Introduction

Herbal medicine is the oldest and most efficient form of medication with mild or no negative effects. Growing up as a child, I saw my grandmother treating almost all common ailments that affected us with herbs. Due to modernisation and the improvement of these herbs in medical science, a lot of people have lost focus on herbs and focus more on medical science's method of treatment.

Today, we will be focusing on herbs for children. Especially as concerns teething pains, colic, I digestion etc. I welcome to my blog friends.

Teething Remedy: Create a teething pain remedy. Describe the preparation and application method

Teething remedy.

I prepared clove oil for teething problems in children from 6m-3 years old. I'll be using clove for this remedy.

Of course, I'll be using dried gloves for this remedy. Below are the step by step methods of preparation for the remedy for teething problems in children and its application.

  • Get a little handful of gloves 3-5g

  • Coconut nut or any organic oil 20-30ml

  • Cotton wool (a small quantity)

Preparation

  1. Soak the gloves in the coconut oil, or you grind them, not to powder (optional) for a better outcome.

  2. Leave the glove/oil preparation for 6–15 hours, or 24 hours (optional) allow the oil to extract the clove content.

  3. Strain the oil from the clove particles into a new container and the clove oil is ready.

  4. Get your cotton wool ready for the application

Application

  • Pour a small quantity of the clove oil into a teaspoon or a bottle cap

  • Cut a little piece of cotton wool

  • Deep a very small portion of the cotton wool into the clove oil

  • Rob the content of the clove oil on the cotton on your child's gum. Be very careful not to allow the clove oil to get too much or drop into the child's tongue. Also, try to prevent the child from swallowing the content, especially for children under 2 years of age.

  • Depending on the child's age, you can get this remedy once or twice a day, morning and evening. If below a year, it should be once a day and above a year to 3 years, twice a day.

  • Repeat it for 5 days and monitor the child's condition. If not, stop the remedy and contact your health practitioner.

Depending on the ailments, it can be given 2-5 days with close monitoring. If stopped within the days, you can discontinue it.

  • Scent leaves can induce sleep in children

  • It aids digestion

  • Heals fever

  • Can be used to treat stomach aches.

Lemon grass: This contains a lot of compounds that have great benefits for children's health.

A small portion of the leaves can be used to cook food for children. The powered form can be added by sprinkling it into the children's meal. Dried or fresh leaves can be cooked and be taken as tea. It shouldn't be given to children under 1 year of age or very little can be sprinkled on the child's food and be taken with precautions.

Health Benefits

  • Helps with digestion

  • Heals aches

  • Relaxes the body and induces sleep

Ginger: this root contains so much that its fresh tea, when given in a small measure of a teaspoon to a child from 2 years old, can be of great benefits, such as;

  1. Aids digestion

  2. Relax the body

  3. Heal fever

  4. A little piece of it can be cut and placed in a child's gum to reduce pain.

Herbal Remedy for Bedwetting: Make herbal remedy to cure the bedwetting probelm in kids. Write the recipe, preparation steps, and observations.

I will be making bitter leaf juice as a remedy for bed-wetting. Some years back, I had a friend who was bedwetting at that time. She was advised to drink a glass of bitter leaf juice once a day for 3 weeks. After three weeks, it was reduced, she kept taking the remedy till it finally stopped

  2. sieve the preparation out from the chaff

  3. Measure the

Prescription

Depending on the age, from 5-12 years, we should take half a glass or 100-120ml, once a week for 3–4 weeks. Teenagers and young adults and even adults can take a glass of the juice for 3-4 weeks.

Observation

The remedy may not completely heal at once, but close monitoring and observation will determine if the child can take the preparation for extra weeks or months.

Of course, it's normal if toddlers bedwet, but this remedy is not meant for babies 0 months to 3 years of age.
