Our crops are infected with diseases and are more damaged by pests. I think this year's contest is a really good engagement challenge and we can talk about insects in depth. Here we go to participate in the season twenty-three weeks of the engagement. Let's start talking about this topic.

I have been growing malta fruit for a long time in our small garden and there are pest attacks, many types of insecticide sprays have been used, exemptions have been applied and even traps have been given. I am here today to participate in this contest with my Malta fruit garden experience. I will try to highlight here all the activities that have been done to prevent pests.

When you visited the crop field, what pests did you observe there? How did you identify that it was a pest?

The thing is that when I visit our garden the fruit has started to come or the fruit has matured enough. But now when I visit the garden I notice that there are fruit borers destroying the fruits. First a fly sits inside a fruit and from there a fungus develops into an insect and the insect starts feeding on the fruit and enters the fruit and the fruit rots and then falls from the tree in just three days. This fruit borer is really causing a lot of damage to the orchard, where 30% of the production level has been destroyed. Fruit borer can be seen in the fruit by making a hole in the fruit and the insect can be found in it and the whole fruit becomes pale. will go

I used amistartop 100ml of syngenta company as a repellent from this fruit borer. Syngenta company is the first and main supplier of pesticides in Bangladesh which has reached the farmer's length of rye insecticide. This company can be found everywhere in Bangladesh. However, with this I used more than two scoops per 100ml container. I have used these two pesticides one after the other. Used one one week and another the next. It's not just for insecticides or fruit-soaking curry powder.

Which pesticides do you think are suitable for controlling the pests you observed in the field? Please express your own opinion. (Note: For your convenience, the names of the pesticide groups are mentioned above.)

Of course the pesticides I used were reliable and effective. They have been used many times, I myself have sprayed them on the plants. Since I have been growing malta fruit for about seven years in our small garden, we have had to spray the plants for many diseases. Besides, I found another insect in the garden that eats the new leaves. For them and for fruit borer I have used similar repellants such as vhirtako 30 gm umbrella for fruit borer and sometimes amister top and sometimes karatet to protect plants and fruit from pests. Of course they are reliable and effective which I have been using for a long time. You may know that there are different types of companies in the market but not every company's product is good. Good company products have no side effects.

Syngenta company products have no side effects. If you use the pesticides of other companies, it can be seen that the leaves and fruits are additionally damaged. I have noticed that due to the use of these pesticides on my fruits, a black coating has come on the skin of the fruits, which has damaged me. It will not be possible to sell the fruits at a high price.

Describe the method of trapping insects by creating a pest trap using various natural materials (such as containers, adhesive substances).

The starting point of setting a pest trap is choosing a suitable receptacle. This could be anything from a glass jar, a plastic bottle or even a bowl. The size of the container will depend on the type of insects which you plan to include in the trap. For instance, there will be the need for a small trap for fruit flies and bigger ones for wasps or beetles.

Most insects are said to have a preference for some certain smells or food particles. Depending on the target insect, different attractants can be used:

Fruit Flies: The juice of apple cider mixed with a few drops of dish soap is an ideal means of trapping fruit flies. The vinegar here draws them while the soap lowers the surface tension of water making it impossible for the insects to float.

Ants: For the bait, you can simply take a bowl add water, some sugar and borax to it. Sugar makes them come for it and borax is a poison that these ants take back to their nest.

Wasps: Pop a sweet liquid such as soda or fruit juice and you are likely to end up getting stung by a wasp. Putting this in a container, where they have access points that they can use to get inside is fairly easy but they cannot leave is another aspect.

Honey or Syrup: Dip some paper or cardboard in honey or syrup to obtain a surface with great adhesion which entraps the insects when they alight on it.

Natural Resins: Some tree resins can also be used as an adhesive but when applied at places where insects are likely to touch or come into contact with.

When the container is laden with the attractant, if there are sticky surfaces put your trap where insect activity has been observed. It has to be placed somewhere near food or nesting sites for the best results to be achieved.

Discuss in detail which crops you think the use of bio-chemicals is beneficial and cost-effective.

It is widely known that organic fertilizers are most often obtained from natural sources, and therefore they are of great importance in agriculture. It has a very central function in enhancing the capacity of the soil in as much as to do so as to create fertility and adjustment of yields. In general, it has been established that the use of u organic fertilizer is an economical and environmentally friendly benefit . Friends I have used many times a 50 kg bag of Keru company as organic fertilizer in garden it is cheap and effective and long lasting.

  • Soil health: This means that they are capable of enhancing the physical status of the soil and also able to stimulate increased microbial activities of the soil. These increase the of those useful microorganisms in the soil for nutrient uptake.

  • Nutrient supply: Organic fertilizers take longer time to released and make it available to the plant as and when it is required. It includes nutrients in simple form such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

  • Environment Friendly: By using chemical fertilizers, one staff gets polluted while by using organic fertilizers this does not happen. It does not contaminate soil and water ways and enhances on the quality of the air.

  • Economic benefits: The preparation of organic fertilizers can at times be very cheap. Farmers are in a position to prepare organic fertilizers on the farm using residues or other available organic material.

Improved crop quality: Scientific research conducted proved that the utilization of organic fertilizers enhances the quality of produce. It raises the level of vitamin and organis acid.

The use of organic fertilizers I believe can help bring down the cost of production for farmers. The chemical fertilizers are getting costlier day by day but the organic manure are comparatively cheaper as they can be produced at the center. As well, by caring for the soil we also extend the fertility in the long run which will favor the farmers.

Make a chart of which pesticides are used for which pest in your area and discuss with us. Special Note: If not aware of this, a permanent farmer or anyone involved in agriculture can take help.

In my area there is a presence of agricultural pests, which cause damage to crop production. Different types of insecticides are used to control this pest. Below is a chart listing some common pests and the pesticides used for them. The companies that we see selling their products here are: Syngenta Company ,Intefa Company, Bayer Crop ,ACI Compan ,Hechem Company.

Tomato Moth
Chlorpyrifos
Cockroach
Pyrethrin
Aphid
Imidacloprid

The information is taken from the pesticide shop in my village and from my younger brother who is working in the agricultural officer post

Rice weevil: Rice weevil is a dangerous pest of the world’s most important food crop, rice in the Bangladesh. They are controlled by carbofuran, an insecticide which forms a good solution to them since they are large sized insects.

Tomato Moth: It is a notorious vegetable pest that affects vegetable crops most especially tomato. It is an organophosphorus compound which contains chlorpyrifos as it’s active form.

Cope borer: Cope borer is one of the major constraints to growth of coppice cultivation. Among all the available chemicals the following is used to control the pest: Lambda cyhalothrin

Cockroaches: Cockroaches become a nuisance even in the best environment, let alone the compound mentioned. This insect is well controlled by pyrethrin.

Aphids: Plant lice are herbal pests that hurt plants by probing liquids within plant tissues. It can be controlled with imidacloprid Facts To control them, Imidacloprid is known to be taken into consideration.

Conclusion

Agriculture uses insects as pollinators and pesticides are also used in Bangladesh. Alters crop productions and food balances. Comes up against all manner of pests: insects, weeds and major crop threats such as rice, jute and vegetables. To curb these threats farmers use chemical pesticides on large scales.

However, the use of such chemicals may at times cause adverse effects on the environment and health of the people. Application of Integrated Pest Management ensures that productivity is maintained on the farm. In addition to the goal of engendering more sustainable farming practices to lessen these issues through the incorporation of integrated pest management alongside using less chemicals.
