Assalam-o-Alaikum !السلام عليكم
First of all welcome to my steemit blog. Today's article of mine is written to join SEC S20W1 Challenge "Impact of Climate change on Agriculture". Respected teacher @xkool24 discussed the topic in a very good way and after reading this lesson I was able to complete the homework. I answered all the questions understanding the objective situation of my region and country. Tried to answer. Let's move on to the questions on this topic.
Describe in detail how agricultural productivity is affected by climate change.
I am a farmer's son and most of the people in my area are engaged in farming and various other occupations such as animal husbandry, horticulture, various fruit plantations, grape, banana and orange plantations and other agricultural related fields. are related. People in my area are very much affected by climate change, but their agriculture has to face huge losses. Just last month, my uncle's cotton crop and my cousin's rice crop were destroyed due to climate change. Agricultural production is adversely affected by climate change.
Because the Temperature in my area is increasing day by day, due to which the yield of crops is greatly reduced. Crops face water shortages due to rising temperatures in summer, as areas where crop production depends on rainwater either get no rain or too much if it does, due to climate change. It happens and thus sometimes the crops are destroyed due to lack of water or due to Excess of Water it also affects the yield and quality of the crop. The people of our region raise cattle and the cattle eat grass, so due to climate change, the cattle are deprived of grass and food.
Dairy Animals reduce milk production and thus meat animals reduce meat production and become weak. Due to the same climatic changes, cattle suffer from various diseases and crops are also attacked by various diseases. Diseases also increase the expenses of livestock farmers. Due to climate change in winters, sometimes heavy snowfall causes various diseases and crop failure.
My city is located on the banks of the river Indus. In summer, the river Suddenly floods and the flood water causes severe destruction in the areas near the river and damages the crops and livestock. All these impacts and damages are caused due to climate change. I understand that climate change impacts and harms people from all walks of life that I have briefly described above that we are experiencing in our area.
Due to climate change, sometimes the land is not able to grow crops. Due to climate change, issues of care and safety of livestock also arise because it becomes difficult to manage a warm place for livestock due to heavy snowfall in winter, while the weather changes suddenly and lasts for a week, thus all kinds of diseases affect livestock. It starts to have an effect. Climate change is affecting every sector related to agriculture. The land is becoming barren. Disease attack on the crops increases and the plants shrink due to extreme heat and cold in the garden. All these conditions arise due to climate change.
Discuss how extreme rains and extreme droughts damage crops.
In the area where I live, different crops are grown in different places every year. There are some areas where the crops are harvested from rainwater because there is no underground water, while some areas get water from canals or rivers. Now both the seasons are affecting both the regions.
In dry areas, there is no water in the world, crops are cultivated on the basis of rain, but due to climate change, the rains do not come on time. And when the rain is not on time, the seed does not freeze well, which makes the crop weak and various diseases and insects attack it quickly.
Due to lack of rain, the crop does not get water and thus both yield and quality are affected. Fertility of the soil decreases and we all know that the bottom of such soil is hard and then due to the hard soil, the plant cannot take root, which weakens the stem of the crop and destroys the crop.
Rain softens if it rains on time then the drought will be less and the cattle will also get grass and if there is no rain then the cattle and humans will suffer from hunger so timely rain and water are very important for these areas. which are prone to drought due to climate change.Due to heavy rains, the amount of water in the rivers and seas increases and the river causes damage to the surrounding population, crops, gardens and due to flood conditions, the crops and livestock are drowned in the water and thus this flooding is the cause of climate change.
The flood water destroys the crops and causes erosion in the land, which makes the cultivated land unfit for cultivation, so the flood and rain water stagnates in the crops, the roots of the crops become weak and get burnt due to the lack of oxygen. They are dying. Various harmful insects cause damage to the crops due to moisture in any crop where the rain water will stand.
Thus, heavy rains cause floods and excess water, destroying crops and gardens, while droughts cause destruction of crops and soil fertility due to lack of water. Sudden heavy rains and lack of rains during the growing season are all due to climate change. in my area as i mentioned in above that we live near river indus side, in summer we face flood , but not every year, this year flood destroy all crops and shortage of water of also , we are facing so climate change affecting us as i mentioned above.
Discuss in stages how new pests and diseases are emerging as a result of climate change AND what measures farmers can take to prevent them.
I will answer this question based on my regional experiences. Due to climate change many new diseases and pests attack the crops because when we cultivate any crop we cultivate it by looking at the weather but sudden change in the weather then the cultivated crop is exposed to various diseases and Damage from insect attack.
Because the insects that attack the crops due to the change of weather are sometimes not affected by the drugs that are effective for them in specific weather conditions, thus the specific weather that the crop needs. Various diseases attack the crop during the change of weather. Thus various diseases and pests come out with the seasons. Thus, various weeds grow in the rainy season which destroy the crops and various diseases and insects attack them, thus those weeds become a source of disease for the crops. These weeds are born due to climate change.
I have also observed in my area that there are some insects that are affected by the poison in certain seasons and the same insects are not affected by the poison in some days. Because sudden increase in cold or increase in heat, these climatic changes start to increase the resistance of insects and diseases spread by them.
Here are the experiments people in my area are doing to protect against various pests and diseases due to climate change. First of all, before planting the crop, the land should be thoroughly weeded and sprayed with pesticides. Then in the second phase, the crop should be changed after every two years because cultivating the same crop continuously for several years also cannot withstand climate change. If the crop is attacked by any disease or insect, poison and appropriate drugs should be sprayed in time. Fertilizers should be given on time as needed. seed should be of good quality and cultivated with poison. Many farmers in my area practice them. In the areas which are affected by flood water or rains, then in this season such crops should be cultivated in those areas which grow better in water such as rice crops etc.
Discuss what changes in irrigation systems are required due to climate change..
Being a farmer's son I understand that water is the most important need. If the irrigation system is improved, we can get better results from our crops despite climate change to a great extent. We need to improve irrigation systems to prevent water wastage because countries with better irrigation systems have better crop yields in climate change.
Looking at the irrigation system in my area, I would say that the biggest change that is needed is to conserve the water that is being lost due to floods so that water can reach drought-prone areas.
The second major change is to introduce a modern system of equitable distribution of water so that every farmer's crop gets water in time.
Canals should be taken out of the rivers and water should be brought to the drought areas. The rain water should be protected from getting lost and the rain water should be sent underground by boring the ground. Rainwater should be stored in mature ponds. In many areas, farmers waste a lot of water, so such farmers should be fined and water should be given to those area or farmers who has shortest of water for crops .
Only necessary water should be extracted underground by using solar tube. Today we see that dirty water comes out from factories and factories, so this toxic water should be cleaned and made suitable for double irrigation so that the water is not wasted. The head of every country should build dams on the canal system in every big and small city, in which the rain and flood water can be saved. With such changes, we can greatly improve the irrigation system.
Explain the two best ways to respond to climate change.
Build dams
Capital is required to conserve water. I have seen that some countries have floods every year due to floods and rains but not all countries including my country Pakistan take steps to conserve flood and rain water. If we have to deal with the floods caused by climate change, we have to build dams because dams will either stop the loss of water or bring a pleasant change in the weather. Ground water level will increase. Water will be safe and floods and damages caused by water and rains can be avoided. Drought can be eliminated. Above all, there may be an agricultural revolution in the country. The fertility of the land will improve.
Another measure is better land use. We should plant more trees in every corner of the earth and trees help to create a better climate. Forests protect against flood erosion. We should add to the forests. These two measures are such that we can fight climate change.
I hope you will like this entry of mine. I invite @anwar1976 , @mile16 and @teukuipul87 in this contest to participate in this challenge.

Sí, la producción animal está disminuyendo, las vacas lecheras y los animales de cría están disminuyendo su producción, muchas enfermedades atacan los cultivos, por lo que la razón principal en los animales es el cambio climático repentino.

Welcome to the agro learning challenge season 20.
Observations and suggestions:
Excessive heat and excessive rains cause crop failure. Your explanation can be understood by looking at your picture. Climate change is putting people of all professions at risk bro. A correct theory is that seeds do not germinate due to lack of rain. You are right that insect attack is more due to cold weather.
