Hello to everyone.
I will introduce you to a historical monument in the city where I live today. "Silifke Castle".
Silifke Castle:
According to the basic findings, Silifke Castle, which is understood to belong to the Hellenistic or Early Roman Period, today looks like a medieval castle as a result of the repairs and changes it went through. Overlooking Silifke, built on a 185-meter-high hill, surrounded by a dry ditch, there are arched galleries, water cisterns, warehouses and other building remains in the oval-shaped castle.
Famous traveler Evliya Çelebi in his Seyahatname, XVII. He writes that in the century, Silifke Castle had 23 towers, a mosque and 60 houses. However, it is not possible to make a full determination since some of the bastions and the inside of the castle are completely destroyed. There are 10 bastions that can still be seen in the castle.
Thank you in advance for reading my article. Depending on the taste, I will continue to explain the historical artifacts in my city in more detail and in a way that will not disturb the reader.
