The game is fantastic. It's a complete RPG/Luter/Shooter hybrid. The only problem is that the server stability is rough.
Gameplay can be difficult. It's a welcome change. The game has become unconsciously easier over the years. Gunplay and abilities feel nice and it’s good to see random rolls and a wide variety of items are present. There are plenty of abilities and hopefully more to come. Sadly though replaying quests don’t reward loot, so things slowed down fast.
Weapons similarly have 2 slots, but the effect is triggered when you shoot. For example, a fire can cause lightning to strike a target, burn, ricochet, explode, or freeze when an enemy is killed. There are tons of options available.
Perhaps the weakest part of the game for 30 hours is the story/conversation. This could be due to the high speed of the game. Much can be a good thing without stopping, but it doesn't feel like much is going on. The characters you meet have a very vivid personality, but sometimes the conversation can be better.
This is a demo though and outriders have the foundation to be a brilliant game.
