Howdy, lovely steemians…

While at my balcony, enjoying the sweet flow of fresh air, my eyes suddenly came across a group of pied crows scavenging for food at a dustbin just a distance away from where I was staying.

So I thought to myself, it’s quite unusual to see such types of bird cluster together in that number in the part of Nigeria where I am currently residing.

Still pondering on what my eyes have seen, I decided to capture the moment as it looked captivating to me.

But before the time of that incident, when I see these birds, I usually think they were just ravens with different body color. But I discovered I was wrong, after conducting a little research on these birds.

The Pied Crow is a widely distributed African bird species in the crow genus. These categories of bird are better thought of as a small crow-sized raven.

They are generally encountered in pairs or small groups, although an abundant source of food may bring large numbers of them.

All of its food is obtained from the ground, trees etc. including injured wildlife such as insects and other small invertebrates and any scraps of human food and fruit.

So whenever I see these birds now, I’m able to identify them correctly.

Currently, I’m in Nigeria. So comment below if you see these birds in your respective locations.

Thanks for reading.
