Sida acuta, the dandelion, is a species of flowering plant in the mallow family, Malvaceae. This plant is believed to originate from Central America, but now has a pantropical distribution and is considered a weed in some areas.
Sida acuta (sida spinyhead) has elongated leaves that are hairless or sparsely hairy on both surfaces and have a pointed tip, namely a sharp apex.
