Tueng Dara Baro Process and Procedures
According to a source quoted from the Aceh Customary Council (MAA) at the tueng dara baro event, a party feast is also held, but basically it is not as big or as lively as the intat linto feast (between the groom). Dara baro is usually only delivered by women by bringing traditional materials to the house of her in-laws. At the event there were several customs such as bringing peunulang cake, seumah mak Tuan, and temeutuek.
On the day of the activity, Dara Baro is dressed in traditional wedding clothes complete with all the jewelry. The jewelry worn on the head is a bun (there are several kinds), patham dhoi (crown), earrings, prik-prik (ayun gumbak) which hangs on the hair left and right near the ear and live jasmine / seulanga flowers. Then for the neck decoration: the first is klah taku, then various attributes are hung around the neck which sometimes cover the upper chest such as boh ru, talo gulei, kanceng lhee, manek dirham, bing meuh and many other types of Aceh-patterned jewelry. That's why there are so many neck decorations.
For the body, on top of traditional Acehnese clothes, crossed in front and behind the simplah jewelry, namely hexagonal plates of up to 36 pieces. Then on the arm there is something called the amulet of meuraket and ikai. Meanwhile, on the wrists, bracelets with the name sawek are worn, shoots of bamboo shoots bracelets and several other bracelets. Rings are worn on the left and right fingers. Then put a belt up to 10 segments and in the middle a rather large capeung is attached. On the ankles are worn a pair of canei diamond anklets. Before leaving for her mother-in-law's house, Dara Baro first performed seumah bak tuoet (prostration on the knees) of her parents. Seumah bak teuoetini means asking for permission and blessing from both parents to go to the husband's house.
They were picked up by the Linto family in front of the gate of the house, carrying bate ranup (cerana betel) and an umbrella. Dara baro was peusijeuk and then led to the aisle, while the group of dara baro ate khanduri that had been provided. However, Dara Baro also dined with the group. After that, the hostess ceremony was held and the baro virgin was given money according to the master's house.
Then, Dara Baro was led to the kitchen to get acquainted with the kitchen, like at home, Dara Baro was asked to hold the kanot sira (salt container), which symbolizes being good at cooking food for the family, being able to feel the husband's shortcomings in shopping and kitchen needs.
Then Dara Baro holds the breuh pond (sack of rice) which contains the philosophy of being able to manage kitchen affairs sparingly, and still paying attention to family food.
Then we were led back to the upper house for a closer acquaintance with the Linto family. Starting from the mother's, father's or father's line to the first son-in-law and so on.
After the banquet is over, the meal is followed by a procession of persijuek or peusunteng dara baro. Peusunteng dara baro was first performed by the mother-in-law and at the same time dara baro performed as much as her mother-in-law. At the same time, Dara Baro's mother-in-law gave a teumeuntuk which was also followed by a ring on Dara Baro's ring finger as a gift from Seunerah Jaroe Daro Baro.

After the procession is complete, including the peusijuek or ritual prayer of goodness for the bride and groom. Dara Baro is required to stay at his mother-in-law's house, and usually Dara Baro stays at his father-in-law's house for three days and three nights. After spending three days staying at her mother-in-law's house, Dara Baro was brought back to her village by several traditional female leaders from her village and her family. At the time of the pick-up, usually the group that picked up the baro virgin would be served a banquet by the linto family.
When Dara Baro returned to her village, there used to be a custom of giving gifts to Dara Baro by her in-laws. Usually if the in-laws have the ability, they have prepared a gift for their daughter-in-law in the form of an ox or a female buffalo. But there are also those who give gifts in the form of a female goat or a pair (sijudo) of chickens. In addition to giving in the form of a cow or female buffalo, it is not uncommon for the baro virgin to be given gifts of various household items such as plates, glasses and other kitchen utensils.
There are so many customs that exist in the Acehnese tribe, and we as the people of Aceh should have all the existing customary rules we must maintain together as well as possible so that they continue to be in the midst of the community in accordance with the developments of the times to come.
