Ubuntu Linux - id Command in Terminal

In past we mostly checked out various commands which were specific to the monitoring. And those commands were external utlities and some were prebuilt or pre shipped with the distro.

So today I want to make use of the command which comes pre shipped with the linux. If you are using the ubuntu linux you should be able to run this command without much issue.

So the command is

id

This allows you to get the specific user related details using this keyword.

And if you get the other options flag for the command then it's possible too.

So here In the image below I wrote a command which checks the type of the permission group for which the user is assigned. And that way I learned how many tasks I can do from that system.

Check out the image below.

So this was one of my simple command script that I have tried.

Have you used the id command? And what is your experience making use of this command for the data or say for the user details etc?
