Ubuntu Linux - lynx Browser in Terminal

Have you ever thought about using the web from the terminal? I know it is weird and also not something adventurous for some folks. But it is possible. And there are browsers that are for the terminal too. A lot of people before big browsers came in made use of the terminal to access the online forums and the website too.

Lynx is one such browser that allows you to make use of the terminal to browse the site. And that has been working out for some people who are not much into the graphics and just want to see the site.

Install lynx using the following command.

sudo apt install lynx

and you can then browse the web using command like this.

lynx www.google.com

and if you type it in the terminal the output could be something like this.

I loved doing this and I wish to try out more of such browser and even navigate my way around them slowly. I know it is not easy but worth trying over I suppose.

Have you use lynx terminal browser? How was your experience making use of it?
