There is this publicist program on a Bulgarian television, which usually invites three public figures a week to comment on the latest events in the country and the world, regardless of their field. In principle, these should be people with different opinions (or at least I thought so), so they are chosen from different professions and fields of activity.
This week they invited a writer, a publisher and an anesthesiologist.
And yesterday the topic was the new mutation of the virus.
What I actually saw in the show was that all three participants were of the same opinion. That they were all invited there to say how everyone should be vaccinated because of the new strain and also to reproach the Bulgarian people for not wanting to be vaccinated.
For some time now, I have noticed this in many programs, especially political ones - when a television station is politically connected to certain circles, it broadcasts programs in which it invites people with the same opinions and positions who defend this particular party.
You know the effect of these broadcasts on the population. This population that has long since given up thinking.
But I did not think that this could happen in a show that claims freedom of speech and seeking different opinions.
Last week the topic was vaccination. They had again invited three people who had already been vaccinated. But it turned out that they did not judge these three people correctly. Because one of them - a well-known journalist - said that he regretted that he had been vaccinated and spoke out against the vaccines.
So, this was obviously a mistake that it is already clear will not be repeated. The anesthesiologist yesterday even went so far as to say that in corrupt and poorly educated countries (such as Bulgaria), the level of vaccination is low.
Because of, you know, low intellectual level.
Yes, they often show on the news Roma or other low-intelligent Bulgarians who claim that they will not be vaccinated, just to instill in the population that only stupid people don't want to do this.
Well, I'm slowly starting to take offense. 😄 Just kidding... I just took out the popcorn to watch the show.
