Max Verstappen has won the F1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. The Dutchman was faster than Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. However, the Red Bull car was unbeatable. The Dutchman takes over the lead of the Formula 1 world championship from Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen now has a three-point lead over Lewis Hamilton.

Before the race
Max Verstappen will be chasing victory in his Red Bull today in the Dutch Grand Prix at the Zandvoort circuit. If the Dutchman manages to win, he will take over the lead in the Formula 1 world championship from Lewis Hamilton. The race starts at 3 p.m.

If Verstappen wins, he will not only take over the Formula 1 championship lead from his great Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton, but he will also succeed Niki Lauda who won the last Zandvoort Grand Prix 36 years ago. So it could be a special day for Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing.

There are already about 70,000 race fans a day along the track this entire weekend. Today it is noticeable that many F1 fans are present on the circuit through the dunes early on.

The fastest lap during qualifying was thus driven by Max Verstappen. He drove his Red Bull RB16B in 1:08.885 around the 4.2 kilometer circuit that slopes through the dunes of North Holland.
