Hello my friends from steem geography. Hope you are all well. Talking about my riding adventure in Cebu. I really thank @bellenguera for this community for me to be able to share my story.
April month is the peak of the summer period in the Philippines. Pinoy, people from the Philippines, usually at this month is at their mood for beach and spring escapades here and there. Some would opt for the nearest swimming venues and others would really travel long hours just to visit their places of choice. Unfortunately, this pandemic turn everything upside-down. It changes the history around the globe from imposing lockdown to travel restrictions. This really bored the people like me who used to not to stay in one place. Now as the COVID-19 restrictions have loosen a bit, everything turned lighter. When I got an invitation from friends for motorcycle riding. I was really excited. At last my summer time would not be waste, not this time.
My friends and I met at 5:30 am at the foot of Marcelo Fernan Bridge.
We started riding our motorcycle to Busay, Cebu. We stopped at a local eatery that we found there and ate our breakfast. What is so nice with that place is that it is an old house turned into an eatery.
It has an amazing over-looking mountain view which stunned everyone of us who are from the low land and could not see this every day.
Then, we ascended to our next stop, we passed the Trancentral highway. The scenery on our way took our breath away.
We could not stop ourselves glancing the almost seems like never-ending foggy mountain view with all the lush trees, and everywhere you can feel the fresh cold mountain dew. This was as if all the toxin in our body have been washed from this experience. Reaching the western part of Cebu, we have seen the two-century old Dao tree of Tuburan Cebu.
We were really amazed how it remains stood there until now. We seldom see that size of a tree today because industrialization has played a big part in modernization. Drastically, it turned a forest land into a concrete jungle where businesses help improve the nation financially. After that, just few minutes away is the Blue Hole Spring.
This spring from its name has cold blue water. We cannot help but mesmerize by its mystique allure. Surrounded with variety of trees and other plants, this is indeed a paradise to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Even by just sitting the whole day there, I am sure you wouldn't mind embracing the serenity of the place. This is like being one with the nature. Such a cure of life's worries and anxiety. Reluctantly, we started our long drive to Moalboal.
It was a tiresome ride, bit it was really worth it. Looking at the white Sandy beach...this is indeed a way to enjoy summer time. Particularly, the beach is called BasDaku Beach from the name itself in our dialect which means wide sandy beach.
People can't help, but love to go there. The water is so clear that it will not pale in comparison to the very well-known Boracay Island,
so people from Cebu are still having fun during this pandemic.
Hope you can discover these places too one day, and see with your eyes. Let us live life and enjoy God's greatness. We will not allow this pandemic to tie us down. Keep safe everyone.
Until my next blog,
