Hello to all travellers, lovers of geography, defenders of the environment, creators of ecological awareness and all of us who feel a commitment to this common home that is the earth. Today I am going to tell you why I love the countryside.

Desde muy pequeña, creo que incluso a pocos días de nacer mi papa nos llevó a conocer el lugar donde él había nacido, un hermoso y pequeño caserío de un pueblo de hato (campo) en la Peninsula de Paraguana, en Falcón Venezuela. Nosotros vivíamos en ese momento en la ciudad capital del estado aún hoy estamos aquí, sin embargo cuando llegaba el viernes por la tarde sabíamos que teníamos que tener lista la maleta porque nos íbamos al campo donde mi papa y mi abuela me enseñaron el amor y respeto por la naturaleza.

From a very young age, I think even a few days after I was born, my father took us to see the place where he was born, a beautiful little hamlet in a hato (countryside) village on the Paraguana Peninsula, in Falcón Venezuela. We lived at that time in the capital city of the state we are still here today, however when Friday afternoon arrived we knew we had to have our suitcases ready because we were going to the countryside where my father and grandmother taught me the love and respect for nature.

Allí aprendí a sembrar, a cosechar con mis manos lo que iba a comer, a atender a los animales, apreciar la lluvia, el sol, así como el día y la noche, algo súper importante fue que aprendí a saber la hora leyendo la sombra del sol, algo que es indispensable cuando salgo de excursión.

There I learned to sow, to harvest with my hands what I was going to eat, to take care of the animals, to appreciate the rain, the sun, as well as the day and the night, and something very important was that I learned to know the time by reading the shadow of the sun, something that is indispensable when I go on an excursion.

Considero que no hay nada más hermoso que el cielo nocturno en el campo, cuando la luz viene de la luna y las estrellas, sentir esa brisa fría que te abraza y te libera, respirar profundo con la seguridad de que estas consumiendo vida a través del aire puro del campo, amo la libertad que se siente cuando emprendes un camino o una ruta nueva para admirar la belleza que te rodea y que viene dada por la creación divina. Soy senderista y amo el campo, en mis venas corre la selva, el llano, la sabana e incluso los mares y su inmensidad.

I consider that there is nothing more beautiful than the night sky in the countryside, when the light comes from the moon and the stars, feeling that cold breeze that embraces you and frees you, breathing deeply with the certainty that you are consuming life through the pure air of the countryside, I love the freedom that you feel when you take a path or a new route to admire the beauty that surrounds you and that is given by the divine creation. I am a hiker and I love the countryside, in my veins run the jungle, the plain, the savannah and even the seas and their immensity.
