Fish Farming With Portable Ponds.

Fish farming has evolved a lot of different Aquacultural practices over the years and very recently, one crucial innovation around fish farming is the use of mordern portable fish ponds.

Ponds are actually man made or natural water filled excavated spaces on the surface of the Earth. In older times fish farmers exhausted a lot of labour and finance in construction of aquatic enclosures for their farm-bred ebible aquatic species. Now in recent times with the invention of portable water ponds, fish farming has become less expensive in cash and energy.

From the oldest types of ponds which were natural water-filled depressions on the Earth surface and dug-out earthen ponds, man took pond innovation a step further with the invention of the raised concrete water tank. This was much better than the previously named two in that it consumed less labour and gave the farmer more control in been able to site it on any available piece of land with little mitigating geological factors such as hard soil surfaces or waterlogged environments.

As time went on, even the raised concrete ponds proved to be very expensive, demanding lots of mansory skills and cement for it's repair and maintenance. With the invention of the portable fish ponds, fish farmers now have a better alternative to previously adopted Aquacultural practices.

With the portable fish ponds, fish farmers can site their ponds on any available piece of land and move the ponds around as situation demands. The advantages of the portable ponds are numerous and far reaching over those of the older types, having just two disadvantages over the rest, first being often of smaller sizes hence supporting fewer population of fish culture than the larger immovable types and second not being able to support mud loving fish species.

The portable ponds are very easy to disassemble and move around. They are often made of tarpaulin with plastic poles for support. They are cheaper and are quite durable and reparable by replacing worn-out parts.

Of all benefits of the portable fish ponds to aquaculture, the greatest is it's encouragement of small capital business men into fish farming. The smallest of these ponds can hold a few hundred adult (table size) fishes so with just one such pond anyone with little capital can start a fish farming business and build on it.

Aquaculture is evolving and only time will tell what functional mystery inventions are waiting to spring into reality in it's golden future.
