Gangani - The Grand Canyon of Bengal - An unexplored beauty

Hello my dear friends in Steem Geography !! I like to take you to a virtual tour to The Grand Canyon of Bengal !!

This canyon is a 70 feet deep natural canyon created by river Shilabati, accompanied by the wind - over a million of years. The laterite surface has been transformed to cliffs, pillars, caves by nature.

How to visit Gangani : The nearest airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) in Kolkata.
The nearest train station to Gangani is Garbeta. One can hire a car from Kolkata to directly reach Gangani, or may choose to reach Garbeta by train and then car/e-rickshaw to Gangani.

Best time to visit Gangani : The best time to visit Gangani is post monsoon. October to February is ideal time to visit Gangani.

The canyon becomes red during dawn and dusk. The sunset over the river Shilabati is a moment to remember.
