Este es mi primer post en la comunidad de Geografía. Hace unos años, mis ojos presenciaron una obra arquitectónica que me hipnotizó. Es una catedral con orígenes a la religión católica, localizada en la ciudad de Barcelona, España, iniciando su proceso en el año 1882, lo más curioso del caso, es que todavía en esta época contemporánea continua en obras de construcción, debido a la complejidad de la estructura y el elevado coste que acarrea este proyecto. Añadiendo que los planos fueron quemados en las épocas de guerra, por lo tanto tuvieron que ingeniárselas para que la Catedral mantuviera su forma original. De acuerdo a estimaciones de la constructora encargada, planteaban que se terminaría en el año 2026(más de 140 años de proyecto), sin embargo por causas externas como la pandemia, las obras fueron paralizadas, por lo que claramente la fecha de culminación será mucho más lejana de lo previsible.
Cabe destacar que es la segunda iglesia o estructura religiosa con más visitas en todo el continente Europeo, luego de la Basílica de San Pedro en el Vaticano. Una vez, que se materialice por completo; será la catedral con mayor altura de Europa con 172 metros, las columnas más grandes están hechas a base de rocas volcánicas y las de menor tamaño son de basalto.
El ingreso es de pago(oscilando los 16 euros, en consecuencia a la temporada), por lo que incentiva a acelerar el proyecto, aunque también reciben donaciones y financiación de organizaciones religiosas. En las noches es una maravilla, su arquitectura modernista catalana, es una muestra que la creatividad no tiene fecha de caducidad. A fuera de la catedral, se encuentra la Plaza de Gaudí, llamada de esta forma en honor al arquitecto que dirigía la realización de la Basílica. Los fines de semana, suele tener actividad económica: mercados locales dedicados a venta de souvenirs y artesanías.
El Arco del Triunfo, la apertura está fechado para el año 1888, fue creada para expresar un mensaje "motivacional" hacia la población: siguiendo el avance de la ciencia, cultura, social y por supuesto el mejorar como personas. Según me contaron actúa como un punto de encuentro: se han realizado eventos de protestas, como también maratones. Tiene similitudes al de París, aunque este es como color rojo pálido. This is my first post in the Geography community. A few years ago, my eyes witnessed an architectural work that mesmerized me. It is a catholic cathedral, located in the city of Barcelona, Spain, starting its process in the year 1882, the most curious thing about the case, is that even in this contemporary era continues in construction works, due to the complexity of the structure and the high cost of this project. Once it is completely finished, it will be the tallest cathedral in Europe with 172 meters, the largest columns are made of volcanic rocks and the smaller ones are made of basalt.
Admission is paid (ranging from 16 euros, depending on the season), so it encourages to accelerate the project, but also receives donations and funding from religious organizations. At night it is a marvel, its Catalan modernist architecture is a sign that creativity has no expiration date. Outside the cathedral is the Plaza de Gaudí, named in honor of the architect who directed the realization of the Basilica. On weekends, it usually has economic activity: local markets dedicated to selling souvenirs and handicrafts.
Arc de Triomphe, the opening dates back to 1888, was created to express a "motivational" message to the population: following the advancement of science, culture, social and of course the improvement as people. According to what I was told, it acts as a meeting point: protest events have been held, as well as marathons. It has similarities to the one in Paris, although this one is a pale red color.
