El Coliseo de Roma es un antiguo patrimonio que forma parte de la evolución de la humanidad, ha sido la base para el desarrollo de estructuras arquitectónicas con mayor complejidad, dándonos como lección que incluso en las épocas sin tecnología de punta, podíamos salir adelante y enfrentarnos a las adversidades que se nos presentan.
Podría considerarse un anfiteatro, siendo conformada por la civilización romana, inaugurado aproximadamente en el año 80 D.C, según los arduos estudios de algunos historiadores italianos. El principal objetivo de la creación de esta obra, eran las luchas entre los gladiadores y los animales salvajes como los tigres y leones. Aunque tenía otros fines menos frecuente como: el teatro, ejecuciones y la práctica de caza. A decir verdad, es un entretenimiento primitivo, disfrutando el dolor ajeno, como si fuera un cine. Las ansias de poder y autoritarismo por parte del emperador eran abismales, además el podía decidir quien vivía y quien no, un loco dictador.
Los detalles del Coliseo se notan deteriorados, pero es de admirar que aún luego de casi 2000 años se conserve en la actualidad, y permitan darle la oportunidad a los turista de viajar en el tiempo. Los terremotos ocurridos a través de los años y fenómenos de la naturaleza influyen en su aspecto físico.
