It was true 30 years ago...
It still gets crowded here in Long Beach but there's nothing much interesting there anymore for me anyway. No movie theatre, book stores, record stores, bakeries, grocery stores... Its just expensive restaurants and Rite Aid.
Rite Aid, CVS, Walmart, Costco etc??? If you have never experienced a one owner store or a very small chain you have no idea how much nicer it is. Spending a couple of dollars more for that? People got robbed by the idea of "cheaper."
You will pay. And pay dearly for the erosion of your life.
If only I could show you all the old little markets and shops and liquor stores.
You could live here then with no car and get anything you need just by walking. It's hard to describe how much the quality of life has declined here in the last 30 years
