Is your pantry filled?

Are you panicking yet?

I know about the Coronavirus and at the same time, I forget. I guess this has to do with my lifestyle. I hardly have contact with other people.

I always had food, things I need in stock.
Many grannies did it and my mother had three of each in her cupboard. No matter if it was food, packages of matches, candles, shampoo, soda or toilet paper. Three packages of each.

My granny survived the war, my mother only went to the shops once a week or sent me. Choose was only open from 8:30 am till 5 or 6 pm.
On Monday morning and Sundays they were closed too and on Saturdays at 4 or 5 pm.
I have my own pantry. There was a time I had three of each too but I changed that. I have way more if it comes to beans and less if it comes to cleaning agents, vinegar, shampoo, etc.

Yesterday I noticed there's not one liter of oil or flour left in the supermarket.
To be honest that surprised me. Both are basic ingredients and were at least on last Friday available in high amounts (pallets filled with it).
As far as I can judge there are no loaded shopping cars or people panicking, afraid to be out of food. The shop had even more food than during the past weeks.

Are you panicking, is your pantry filled?

Thank you for your vote. I hope it will not be needed, filled pantry I mean. I wish you a great day. 💕

No. I don’t think there will be shortages. Rather, the stocking up is to minimize how often we need to go shopping, thus getting less exposure to infection.

To me it's not about the shortage only. I do not frequently shop since I do not like it plus do not like crowds.
I always had a pantry. It was easier as I worked and now it's easier for me and my children if I get ill. I want them to have enough food if something happens to me.

If enough people get ill there will be a shortage. Why? Because you need people to deliver it to shops, etc.

I wish you good health. 💕

I'm not panicking, but I have quite a lot of food and water stored in the basement. Partly because I have a payback card and there are sometimes such actions that you get 10,00 Euro for free, if you buy 100,00 Euro, I buy pallets of cans like kidney beans, asparagus in jars, vegetables, UHT milk ..., partly because I often buy reduced food that hasn't reached the expiry date yet and water because once there was a huge flood and you couldn't drink water from the tap anymore. And I also have toilet paper in stock, because sometimes Rossmann gives 10% vouchers, which you can also get from Müller, then I buy such 20-roll-packs from Müller, they are the cheapest when you consider the price per unit.

You really are a smart shopper! I envy you for it. Canned food I have too and flour etc the basic things. Toilet paper always extra too. I intend to save so I can buy more if something I use is a bargain. At the moment I try to mainly shop that way. It's just a pity cheese is never on sale. The extras or some luxury I only buy if it is a bargain and cheaper than what I usually buy. I wish I bad a bit more room. I save a part underneath my bed in roll-containers.

A great day to you. 💕

Not yet, but I think we have to, soon.

As of this morning there are 33 people who are positive for COVID-19. 😢 That is from 2 to 33! Imagine?!!! 😭

And the fact that we are in a third world country, where our facilities and capabilities cannot measure up to the epedemic, we really need to take extra precautionary measures.

It went that fast with us too. One lady. I believe a few days later husband/bf and kid, the lady again and now we seem to be in some top 10 of coronavirus infected people. We live with way too many people together in a very small country and no one cares. You better get some basic food so you have for you and your kid, no school (?) and also if you get sick you can make it yourself easier.
I wish you good health. 💕

Yes, we will do that. But hopefully, things would not be worse..

You too, take care. ❤

I will. Today or tomorrow I see if I can find flour and oil elsewhere or after the weekend. With that I can make the food I need. 💕

I guess you don't need it?
Without children and wolves I might have it filled too. Only once or twice a year will do. Thanks for voting. 💕

always need more

You always need more because it's never enough or because you used it all? Will you fill it or is it fine the way it is?
A great day to you in good health. 💕

I'm always stocked up just in case something were to happen, and because most of the good aren't really perishable. Water, food, paper essentials, etc are all good to have anyway.

Thank you for your vote and added explanation. I agree with you. It's good to have at hand if you get ill and can not drag yourself over to the shop, get visitors and if things like this happen. If it comes to it there's not much that can expire. I wish you a great health and day. 💕

Howdy wakeupkitty! just dropping by to say that I sent you 5 steem for winning the League contest last week, well done!

I'm not panicking but we are buying a few extra supplies. So far the stores are not running out of anything except cleaning supplies like Chlorox.

Thank you so much for the Steem. I am very happy with it.

I go for the basic food products mainly. I still have a huge bottle of Dettol, medical alcohol and vinegar is a great help too.
Stay safe. Let's hope there's enough for everyone and we all learn to do with less if we need to.

I wish you a great day. 💕

Howdy today wakeupkitty! You are very welcome for the steem, well done. And I agree, I hope everyone has enough supplies and stays safe.

It might do the world good. Quarantine, lock down a, closed borders and schools, staying home and quality time with ourselves or family or the dog. 😁

Yes, in that respect, it would force people to get re-aquainted with their family. lol.

Let's see what happens in the next weeks. My kids schools finally closed. 😁💕

I agree wakeupkitty. There are going to be many parents that have to change things around to take care of their kids now that schools are canceled! But I guess alot of them won't be going out to work either.

Not panicking, but I do have enough food to last me quite a while.

Assuming there is still electricity, I suppose. Which I really have no reason to believe there wouldn't be. :)

As long as you have a meal a day for two toll three weeks you will be fine. No electricity would be a problem to me it means no water. I hope that won't be the case. Enjoy your day and thanks for voting. 💕

You have a huge pantry, eat less, no money or provide in everything yourself?

I have no money😅

That's why I started. I bought a bit throughout the year and try to keep it in stock. I wonder if there will be food available in one or two weeks time. Some buy it all. Stay safe and thanks for answering. 💕
