My Sermon At Church Yesterday "Remember, O Lord, What Is Come Upon Us: Consider And Behold Our Reproach"

Greetings to all the bosses on this noble platform. It is always my fervent wish, that we all grow on the blockchain to meet the heights we wish to be. That has been my everyday prayer. But in order to get to this height, we must try as much as possible to power up most often and try to stay relevant on the steem blockchain. Yesterday, I got the chance to share the word of God with the Pentecost church in Abonkosu. It is amazing and I would like to share it with you

In this post, I would like to share with you about;

Lamentations 5:1

Remember, O Lord, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

The word of God is very powerful and tells a lot about what we can do, so as to gain favour, mercies, Goodwill from the Lord. The Lord must remember his people, the Lord must remember his country, the Lord must remember his covenant with us. In most times in the Bible, most of the words, "Remember me!" Whenever it is heard, then it means the speaking voice has a covenant with God.

It is very good that as disciples of God, we must always remember that, Only God can help, only God can deliver, only God can be trusted.

The prophet Jeremiah who is noted to be the writer of Lamentations talks about the ordeals of the city of Jerusalem. Lamentations consists of five poems. In the div poems, the first poem talks about the comfort the speaking voice cries for from the Lord. Fast forward in the fourth poem, the writer describes the city of Jerusalem. He talks about the deeds of the people in Jerusalem. How they have forsaken God and how the prophets and priests who were to stand by the word of God are now sinning. The streets have been set as a blood shedding place. The prophet reflects about the pain and suffering and why God has forsaken his people. God has caused judgement onto the people of God.

In the fifth poem, which is also the last poem, the Bible makes as understand the predicaments of the prophet as he introduces his poem with a cry of prayer in (5:1)

Remember, O Lord, what is come upon us:consider, and behold our reproach.

There isn't any other person who can help but God it can deliver his people. If God remembers his promises then he can deliver Jerusalem.

In this life, most Christians are suffering a lot, but they have God who can help. Why is this so. The people of Jerusalem sinned and God forsake them. But we get to know that prayer answers all questions. God is able to deliver. We can talk about (1 Chronicles 4:10). How Jabez was delivered from pain due to his prayer. He then began great of his brothers. Esther gained favour from God in the sight of Ahaserus due to prayer. Let us always have trust in God that he is able and commit to prayer in order to break all yokes.
