Great excitement at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, a residence of the Queen. After a "suspicious object" was found, there was an arrest. But many questions remain open.
After finding a "suspicious object" in the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II (94) in Scotland, the police arrested a man.

A team from the ordnance disposal team had moved in and secured the item, the Edinburgh police said. The authorities did not provide any further details at first, including whether it was a sharp explosive device.

«A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. There was no danger to the public and the investigation into the circumstances is ongoing, "said the police.

Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the Queen has been with her husband Prince Philip (99) almost continuously in Windsor Castle near London. In Scotland she has an official residence, the Palace of Holyrood in the capital Edinburgh. When she visits the northern part of the country, however, the monarch usually stays in Balmoral Castle, around 165 kilometers north.
