May is a special month for all artists. I mean the "mermay challenge" which is a drawing challenge that consists of drawing a mermaid daily throughout the month of May. It is used as a method to improve skills, develop agility and maintain consistency at work.
I would like to show you one of the works made last year for this drawing challenge. Personally, I have a great inclination to draw female characters with swords, as if they were warriors. Here is the step by step process that this illustration.
When I finished the illustration I realized that it looked better with the mermaid in a horizontal position and temrine making another version of the landscape mermaid, adding more jellyfish and more details of the environment.
