Life-sized bears have become the trend. Be it gifting someone or having them merely as a showpiece around your child's bed, people are preferring these above the rest. But their ultimate cuddles and massive smiles come with a price. It's a tedious and troublesome task to maintain their hygiene. Scroll further to explore some of the cleaning ideas in the same line of thought...
Take them to a launderette
Giant Teddy Bears are not going to fit your normal washing machines so most probably you will have to take it to a laundromat for washing away the dirt, stain, and dust it has collected. Be mindful to use cold water only. Best it to wrap them into a soft cotton sheet, tying it up at the ends to ensure that the tumbling won't harm its stuff by causing an uneven shifting. This will also save your furry friend's eyes and nose from falling off.
Remember that it needs an extra rinse cycle to flush the detergent out of the big furs completely.
For the drying, use the dryer sheets and set a nice warm temperature. You also need not take it out of the cotton sheet you have tied it into for the washing. Drying needs an extra layer of protection as the springy twists and turns of a dryer are harsher. Take it out from the sheet and brush its furs with a thick soft brush. Voila! Your teddy is ready!
Check the label before taking them through this method of grooming as many materials are not safe for machine washing.
Simply use a brush and soap
If your king-sized bear is not that dirty and there are only a little bit of stains or you just want to do away with the dust and the odor then you can immerse them in your bathtub as they aren't going to fit in your buckets!
Lather soap on their fluffy body and gently use the brush to work on the stains or specific areas to be cleaned.
White vinegar and water is another super amazing hack to do away with any pungent smell and fussy stains. You can either submerge the teddy into this solution for some time, followed by a thorough rinse, or can use a brush and this solution to work on the distinct areas.
Natural drying is best. Keep them in a shady area that is warm or receives subtle notes of sunlight. This will take longer. A day or two. You can also use a hairdryer on a cool light mode. Brush up and your man-sized bear is back to its newer days!
Use a Vacuum cleaner and a brush
Vacuum him from time to time if you want to save yourself from the above time-consuming processes for a longer duration. They have to be vacuumed on a very low mode. Brush them up and they're dust-free! The best way to suck out all the dust and mites and lint.
Hope now, the teddy cleaning won't put you on pins and needles!
