A wedding is a marriage ceremony which signifies coming together of two people to form a union.
In Nigeria there are a lot of tribes and ethnic groups but the major and most populous ones are the Yoruba, Igbo and the Hausa. Each of these tribes have different cultures and traditions as well as different beliefs of how a marriage ceremony should be done.
YORUBA WEDDING

The yoruba wedding is an extremely colorful and lively event. Like in almost every African setting families from far and near come together to showcase the rich culture of the Yoruba. Colorful attires known as the Aso-ebi is worn and the females adorn their heads with headgears known as the GELE.
HAUSA WEDDING

The Hausa people are predominantly muslims. So most of the ceremony is based on the Islamic culture with a touch of the African colorful setting.
IGBO WEDDING

The Igbo wedding is just as colorful as the Yoruba and hausa ceremony. The husband and wife are dressed in eye catching attires sometimes resembling attires worn by the Igbo royalty. Beads are usually used to decorate the hair of the bride.
A wedding ceremony all over the world is usually a fun-filled event, whether it is in Africa , America or even in Asia. Different customs and practices make it a memorable and very special ceremony.
