One of my favorite movies is this one because it shows how he had to manage to live alone on a totally unknown planet, the movie was released on September 24, 2015 ... and octuvo several nominations, won major awards such as: premier award, and several oscars, among many others.... here I leave a short plot of the movie
While the astronauts were on the planet Mars doing tests on the rocks, a storm comes very, very fast and does not give them time to get on the ship, as they wanted to stabilize it so that it does not go away...
In the middle of this, the commander is hit by a rock and gets lost in the storm because it was too strong!
The commander orders everyone to get into the vehicle and says that if the storm gets worse they should leave, she wanted to keep looking for the commander, but it was too intense the storm!
So she decides to get on before the storm takes the vehicle away leaving the planet Mars behind and going back to the satellite .... well if they didn't want to die they had to !!!!
Arriving at the satellite they inform NASA and in a press conference they give the news that Mark Watning had died, because they thought he was dead, but he wasn't !!!!
Watning was fine, the storm had only washed him away, but if he was seriously injured and his space helmet was damaged, he had to get it fixed or else he could die from the oxygen !!!!
He gets to one of the shelters and there he removes his helmet, takes out the small particle that got into his stomach and sews up the wound.
After that, watning goes to the computer and records a video in case he wasn't still alive.
He had no way to contact NASA and it would be 4 years before they would go on a mission to Mars again to rescue him, and the shelter room he was in had food for only 31 days! So in a very difficult situation ...
But he says ... I'm not going to give up, he gets to (solar day 21) and starts counting the food reserves to see how much he can decrease!
He goes to the computer and records himself again explaining that if he saved the food he could last 400 days, but luckily he is a botanist and that would be easier for him!!
Then he starts to build a vegetable garden on solar day 24 !!!!!
Mars sand would help him and on solar day 31 he started planting, he used his excrement as fertilizer and planted potatoes ....
He built an ozone layer that would have all 4 walls well sealed, but the problem was the water! How would he do it?
If he passed the nioxin and liked a little oxygen and hydrogen and set it on fire, maybe it would work! And so it did, already that was a relief ...
Shortly after that, hope began to show, the potato plants began to emerge!
While they were on planet earth, they were burying Mark Watning thinking he was dead.
Until a message comes in to the NASA checkpoint and they see that one of the shelters on Mars was not the same, thanks to the satellite image !!!!
When NASA realized that Watning was still alive, it was a new hope for him ...
But Watning still didn't know what they already knew he was alive, no, they were able to communicate !!!!
Eventually the potatoes were harvested and then he went back to farming !!!!
As time went on, they found a way to communicate with each other !!!!
Now that they could communicate with NASA, it was clearer what they could do and what they had to help with, how long it would take to rescue him.
The next trip would be in a couple of months to bring him supplies until Hares 4 arrived !!!!
Warning asked about his buddies and NASA told him that they had not yet been told that he was still alive and that they should concentrate on the mission.
Meanwhile on the satellite were Watning's companions and they got a video message telling them that Warning was still alive !!!!
While watning was entering the chamber when he closed the door, there was an oxygen leak and the orchard exploded, and the helmet of the suit was blown off, and he had to use duct tape to control it!!!!
While on the satellite, they manage to communicate with Watning and talk about the problems that happened !!!!
Because the observation blew up the habitat, he starts to rebuild it again, which allows him to turn on power and establish oxygen from the inside.
Without the plants and without more production, he would only have supplies left for about 180 more days!
Solar day 184 and they asked Watning to decrease the amount of food so they could keep running until supplies arrived.
Finally the day arrived and they prepared the vehicle, put it in horbitat and as it was leaving the earth's atmosphere it exploded !!!!
They give the news to Watning and he takes it very hard ..... Until China sees the news and decides to help, it was Watning's only and last hope!
And at that moment a guy from astro dynamica arrives and suggests something, which would be to go get watning in the hares 4!!!!
The satellite got the message and everyone agreed to give it a try, even though it would add 531 days to their mission!!!!!
With hares 4 already in the Mars crater, Watning begins to modify it.... Step by step so that it would not have any inconveniences!
They made another attempt to launch the supplies into space and it was successful!!!!!
As Watning got to work!!!! It didn't take much to get off Mars....
Arrived on the day we were expecting departure, turned off the video systems, got on the rover and headed for hares 4!!!!
¡¡¡¡Every once in a while he stopped to reload the rover to get to the crater where he would take it out!!!!.
NASA says that in order to get the vehicle fast enough to get through the atmosphere and intercept it in the middle of space they had to remove weight from the vehicle, they had to remove the front end, the windows, the control panels and the vehicle had to be operated by remote control!
They had to remove at least 5,000 kilos from the vehicle and then seal the front of the craft and the doors with a large bag to try to control the air pressure.
¡¡¡¡¡After achieving this he starts the countdown and takes off, when he was leaving the atmosphere he faints thanks to the speed he was going too fast!!!!!
When leaving the atmosphere the curtains fall allowing him to go a little faster, already in space the speed was equalized due to the gravity!!!!!
But something went wrong and to reach it would be 68 kilometers it was too far so ....A watning came up with the idea to take something sharp and prick his palm and so he would use the air in his suit to reach them!!!!!
First he jabbed his glove and reached the satellite....... It was a success NASA was able to intercept watning was safe, and he was fine.
¡¡¡¡It was a moment of relief for everyone, as everyone was watching it live!!!!
¡¡¡¡After that watning never wanted to go on a mission again and went on to teach at the university, because he had so much to tell!!!!
