Indian film entitled "Dangal" which means wrestling was released in December 2016 played by Amir Khan and sent based on the true story of a man named mahavir Singh Phogat, he is a senior Indian wrestler who successfully trained his two daughters named Geeta Kumari. phogat and babita kumari phogat. They managed to become world-class wrestlers.

Mahaveer is a senior wrestler who quit his career due to costs and demands of life, he dreams that one day if he has a son he will become a wrestling champion and continue his dream. But fate said differently, because his wife had given birth to 4 daughters in a row.

She is powerless against destiny and thinks that girls cannot possibly fulfill her dreams. He also buried his dream deeply, until one day he got a report from his neighbor that the first and second girls Geeta and Babita fought and beat up boys at school.

then mahavir began to realize that it turns out that her daughter has wrestling blood like her, she is so happy and wants to know her dream. Mahavir then came to train his two daughters to wrestle, while his wife was very worried about the decision because girls had to be gentle, wrestling is such a rough sport that she was afraid that no one would dare to marry them.

Mahavir's decision was finally unanimous and ignored his wife. The next day they both started training, the sun had not yet risen they were up, they followed basic exercises such as jumping rope and other basic exercises, also ordered geeta and babita to jump into the river. They work every day until they are tired at school, also forbidden to eat greasy food the days go by like hell.

Then mahavir wanted to put her daughter in a wrestling practice but was refused, because in general, those who train there are all men, while Geeta and Babita are women.

Mahavir then clears part of his rice field to be used as a training ground, he only hopes that his hard work will pay off. Actually, Mahavir feels sorry for her two children, whose parents' hearts can torture their own children. But he can only choose a role, which is to be a father who loves his child and gives up his dream, or becomes a steel-hearted trainer .

Until one day her two daughters started complaining and there were many reasons not to practice anymore, one of her complaints was that her hair was dirty during practice, because Geeta and Babita's complaints had big problems, mahavir called the barber to the house. and cut her daughter's hair to be like a boy. Geeta and babita feel embarrassed that the villagers laugh at them.

The villagers thought Mahavir had gone mad. Geeta and Babita finally don't want to practice, they arrange various ways to cancel the practice. Until one night they came to his friend's wedding without his father knowing. The party was very festive, but the bride was not happy. Mahavir finds out and goes to the wedding, mahavir makes a mess at the venue then leaves angrily, geeta is very embarrassed and cries.

They pour their hearts out to their friends, Geeta feels jealous of her friends who can dress up so beautifully, unlike those who can only force them to practice. The bride reveals that she is more jealous of Geeta and Babita, because she still has a father who thinks about her child's future, and wants her child to be successful. Unlike her, until the age of 14 she was immediately married to someone she had never met, and the rest of her life could only be passed by being a housewife and giving birth to children after.

Hearing those words, the two of them became determined to get serious and practice without being told, that they are becoming diligent in practicing every day. Seeing the rapid progress of his two daughters, Mahavir decided to enter them into a wrestling competition.

For the first match, Mahavir registers Geeta for a men's wrestling match in the village, initially being laughed at and rejected on the grounds that women shouldn't come, and it makes Mahavir very emotional and leaves, but the committee thinks again and steals the chance to earn money in this moment. Never in history had a woman fought a man in a wrestling competition, those who felt this would captivate so many.

they finally called mahavir back and accepted Geeta in the wrestling event. before the match Geeta is left to choose one of his three opponents, and Geeta chooses the strongest one in this match. Geeta excelled in speed and agility but not in power, and ended up losing this first game.

Despite losing, Geeta was awarded 50 Rupees as a prize in anticipation of the first match. On the way home Geeta couldn't sleep all night and asks her father, when is the next game? After that Geeta started her career in the world of wrestling and the journey of every match she participated in, medals and trophies all slowly decorated the walls of their home. One day Mahavir submitted a request for sports facilities and equipment, facilities and equipment to the sports bureau but it was not fulfilled.

When Geeta returned to her home and hometown for a vacation, she looked very different from before, she started teaching her younger siblings new techniques obtained from her new trainer, saying that the techniques her father taught her were ancient techniques. mahavir does not accept what her daughter says, thus saying that her new technique will be easy for her opponent to read.

The following day Geeta quickly returned to the sports dormitory, under the defeat of his first international match. Meanwhile Babita followed her brother to win the match and also win the national. Her father is worried and reminds Babita not to lose her identity like Geeta, until Babita's sports boarding school is picked up by her sister.

Before going to bed Babita sees Geeta wearing nail polish and tells her sister that back then, when she lost her first match she couldn't sleep all night, but now losing an international match looks more relaxed.

Then Babita is scolded by Geeta. In the next game Geeta still lost, the coach said "You didn't lose, but you are unlucky at international level".

Geeta realizes her mistake, arrogance has killed her identity, she has been ignoring those words all this time. Geeta wants to apologize to her father, but lacks the courage. Babita says "he is our father, but he will definitely help", and finally Geeta apologizes with tears, hearing her daughter's crying voice. Mahavir decided to look for his daughter the next day.

The next day Geeta cuts her hair back to the way it used to be. The trainer tells Geeta to join a diet program with the coach. Geeta will be in the 51kg category because he doesn't fit into the 55kg category. Geeta then says about this incident. Mahavir carried his suitcase and rented a room near the gym to train his daughter.

Geeta and Babita are threatened with being expelled from the dormitory, Mahavir begs the hostel so that her two daughters are not expelled.

Then Geeta contacts her father about the important things his opponent should pay attention to. Mahavir tells Geeta which technique to use for the rest of the match. During the match, Mahavir came and sat in the audience seats. In the second half, Geeta finally starts to win. The trainer who defends Geeta, manages to direct the attack. geeta gets 3 points but and gets attacked by her opponent 3 points for a draw. Mahavir tells Geeta to keep attacking. In the end Geeta won in this match.

the coach always told Geeta to follow orders. but Geeta prefers to follow the direction of her father's wishes. When the match against Nigeria was drawn, until the referee used coins to decide who was the attacker and who was the detention, Geeta had no luck and he got a detention position, and he won.

Coach was annoyed and thought Mahavir always took his role as coach. Coach Geeta has a grudge against Mahavir. During the final match, Geeta's coach orders someone to lock Mahaveer in the warehouse so that he cannot watch the final match. Geeta is waiting for mahavir, Geeta is even more worried.

the opponent this time is very tough because Geeta has been defeated by him. Geeta wants to say that she has succeeded. but Mahavir is still cooped up in the warehouse and can't see his daughter. Mahavir could only sit quietly and wait, suddenly the national anthem sounded in the stadium, Mahavir realized that his son had become an international champion. Mahavir shed tears, his dream has now been fulfilled.

Suddenly the janitor opened the warehouse door, Mahavir immediately ran outside and came to the arena. Geeta presents her winning medal to embody and places a gold medal around Mahavir's neck.
