THIS is how all true crime stories should be written! đ If you are not following the best police page in the world on Facebook yet, you should do so right away. Their tags too are epic. Search 'Polk County Sheriff's Office' on there. Below I'm copying one of their posts, including the photo their full-time artist dishes up for their posts, and their tags below it.
Reuben violated his Hillsborough County probation (Armed Kidnapping and Armed Burglary with Assault/
Battery), so a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Polk County deputies were informed of this warrant because Reuben was residing within the friendly confines of the 863.
Our deps went to Reubenâs travel trailer and knocked on his door.
Mrs. Reuben answered the door and broke the news that Reuben was not inside. Maybe he was there and she just didnât know it. Perhaps he fell behind some cushions on the sofa, or fell asleep in a closet under some clothes. It happens. But Mrs. Reuben declined the deputiesâ request to search the house for him.
Deputies were crestfallen. Theyâd come all this way, but werenât able to find Reuben.
A shift sergeant, drone unit, and K-9 unit came out to the scene to console the deputies.
Mrs. Reuben saw this, and maybe she felt bad for the deputies, we donât knowâŚbut Mrs. Reuben came outside and told them that her hubs was in fact inside their residence. It was obviously an oversight.
Deputies yelled into the house for Reuben, but he did not answer.
Now, Reubenâs probation was for very serious charges, and it could be dangerous for anyone to enter the home to go in after him.
We werenât there with the deputies, so we can only imagine that they drew straws to see who had to go inside. K-9 Kreed must have drawn the short straw.
Kreed entered the home and found ReubenâŚhe was under a bed. Dust bunnies must have taken him hostage.
Reuben was arrested and taken to the Polk Pokey.
