Let's develop an understanding of good books

Thoughts on Fantasy

Since the book is compared to wine, the author must have had an appetite. In other words, you must have the rigor to distinguish a good book. If my field was child education, I would have read a lot of related books as well as being an expert in that field. Naturally, there is a difference between which books are good. Among them, there are books that I want to study, while others I think I will write better than this.

Interestingly, each author takes a different approach to the subject of children's education and presents various examples. Some say that from grade 5 SD is really a match, so you have to study first in junior high and even high school. In addition, some argue that up to grade 5 in primary school, thinking skills should be developed through reading rather than prior learning.

I don't know who's right. However, from my point of view at least, I will be able to see which author of the book makes his argument more logically.

Recently, I came across a book in the area of interest. It's a topic I've always wanted to write about. The completeness of the content is also high, and I have read this book several times. But that's not the style I want to use. It provides as much information as wikipedia, but the author's sharp claims are not visible. In addition, the content is not easy so that it is difficult for general readers to read. It should be considered a completely professional book, but that is not the direction of the book I am pursuing. I want more readers to read professional content easily and comfortably.

When I studied music in the past, there was something I always heard about.

"Really good music should be comfortable to listen to, no matter how complex the chords and arrangements are."

I believe that you need the ability to solve difficult things easily. That's what I consider a 'good book'. Of course, I'm not saying that easy books are always good. Sometimes books that make you think deeply are great. Better yet, if you can taste it while remembering a phrase. Such books have long been favored by readers. However, it is not a good book that the expression of the book is too exaggerated or difficult. It is nothing but showing off one's knowledge to readers.

Hip-hop and dance music is loved for its comfortable melodies and repetitive lyrics. People today prefer comfortable music over classical or difficult jazz. However, I would like to recommend that you enjoy a variety of music. Surprisingly, I can find my favorite music in different genres. I like hip-hop, rap, dance, ballad, jazz, classical music, and traditional music. I think I will also enjoy trot music in the future. Of course, I don't like the music of all musicians, but there is a style of music that I like.

The same is true for the author. To develop a good taste, you need to taste a variety of foods. If you speak badly, you must be omnivorous. It's important to understand and have preferences about your own area of expertise mentioned above, but you shouldn't stay in that area. Even if you are writing books on 'child education', you should also have access to books on history, society, politics, economics and marketing. If you expand your scope like this, you can see the subject from a new perspective. Ideas can also be taken from books in other fields. Even so, I got the idea from the book design and the table of contents.

If so, you should first ask me these questions. What are the standards for a good book for me? Do readers and rapport come first? Is the scientific case important? Is my empathy most important? Is this the book design?

A good book for me is a book with all three beats. Taste, see and touch. Since the book is compared to wine, it must provide them at the same time. Taste is the taste of a book, that is, its content (to easily convey difficult content to readers, and to give impression and sympathy), its perspective is book design (cover, inlay), and sense of tactile is volume and size of the book.

It's not easy to find a book with all three taps. The content of some books is great, but sometimes the designs are not profitable. In addition, the design and content are good, but the book size may be too big or too small. Of course what takes precedence is taste> sight> sense of touch. If it tastes good, the other portion is acceptable to some extent.

Even if my book didn't have this triple beat, I could write and make better books if I had this perspective. The role of the writer does not end with just conveying the content of the text to the editor. Design must also be considered. In fact, publishers sometimes discuss the design of the book with the author.

Books are like synthetic art. You need to present the three previous beats, and a good book has a different energy. When we go to a bookstore, there will be cases where we pick up a book because of its title, design, or content. There are books that are only colorful on the outside and not very good in content, but there are books that fulfill all three requirements.

Ultimately, choosing a good book requires your own standards and perspective. After all, I have no choice but to meet up a lot. You should read and feel more books. That way, I can also level up my book. Of course, you can't reach that stage in an instant. After tasting and trying many wines, you have to taste and taste many books like being a sommelier. Only then can I have my own eyes.
