Slightly-More Home-Made Pizza

in hive-120586 •  5 years ago

I feel like I cheated a lot less this time compared to my last pizza project. I used the same Mama Mary's brand of store-bought crust again, but I brushed it with olive oil as suggested on the packaging because I wasn't using oily pesto. No, this time I used a jar of home-made tomato sauce from @scribblingramma, thickened slightly by simmering in a saucepan. I again used Daiya cheese substitute, and I sliced up the rest of the homemade pickled jalapeños from the last experiment to spread more evenly across this pizza. I also browned some hot Italian sausage to give it more protein substance.

I started experimenting with making my own pizza due to a dairy allergy. Over time, I have become semi-competent, even if I do cheat by using storebought crusts from time to time. If I can do this, you can, too. If you have food allergies, what have you done to satisfy comfort food cravings?

Not bad. Should have added some elk.

Ha! Nah, the remaining elk is designated for chili.

Looking delicious
