So qleya is a dish I discovered not too long ago, and anyone who tastes it tells me it's divine! My recipe is different from the others, I personally prefer to use leg of lamb. This recipe is super easy, and I think it will add a touch of originality to you.
A great way to use La Tunisienne turmeric, which I brought back in my luggage from Le Kef, Tunisia.
Ingredients for 4 persons
- 4 nice pieces of lamb
- olive oil
- 1 onion
- 2 tsp of turmeric (available here)
- salt pepper
Preparation (45 minutes)
- In a large sauté pan, brown the onion cut into strips in olive oil and the meat for 2 minutes, over medium heat.
- Add 1 cc of salt, 1 cc of pepper and 2 cc of turmeric. Pour water over the meat, cover and simmer gently for 45 minutes.
- Enjoy with good homemade bread.
