It's true that education, whether formal or informal, can never be compared to ignorance or illiteracy.

Education is very important in our lives in the following ways:

• Education enables us to read and write

• Education enables us to be able to socialise with others

• Education gives us the opportunity to explore our world

• Education helps to learn good manners.

Education can be classified into two. That's formal education; one acquired outside the school environment and informal education, which is the type of education obtained from a well defined place, (the classroom).

Education is not until one goes to a formal place of learning or educational structure, one can be educated at home, in a religious place or even in our social clubs or circle.

For instance, a child is educated at home on how to greet, say thank you, learn good manners etc. At this point, he or she doesn't need to go to school to be educated on this aspect.

Also, one may not go to school, but gain a skill. That's education. A person may be educated on how to fix a car, sew dresses, or maybe anything else. That's education too, so education depends on how we see or take it.

Then, the very one we have all been involved is the informal education. That's the one obtained in a formal institution called school. School is where you learn to read and write, then acquire good manners. This aspect of education is very necessary and will aid the ones mentioned above. For example, if you must learn how to fix a car, you should be able to read the labels of items.

Like I've mentioned above, formal education for me is the best because it will help you understand the other aspects of education, like learning a skill. For instance, anyone who goes to learn a skill like computer operations should be able to read and write. If not, it may be difficult for you to understand what you want to learn because some skill needs your ability to read and write.

Education to any level is very important and relevant, you're reading this post you're educated. Imagine if you weren't able to read write or understand , it would be difficult right? I hope you wouldn't want to chose ignorant?
