Long beans have the Latin name Vigna unguiculata ssp. Sesquipedalis, long beans that grow by climbing or twisting, are easily found in hot areas of Asia, one of which, of course in several other countries, long beans are known as yard long om beans, Chinese long beans, or asparagus beans.

How to plant long beans is quite easy, just by inserting 2-3 seeds into a hole 1-2 cm deep, then covered with soil. At the age of 30 days it will flower and entering the 45th day, the long beans are ready to be harvested. This fairly short planting time makes long beans one of the vegetables that do not recognize the season, like most other secondary crops.

As a good source of protein, long beans contain vitamin A, thiamine, riboflavin, iron, phosphorus, potassium, vitamin C, folate, magnesium and manganese. Meanwhile, the nutritional value contained in raw long beans per 100 grams is, 47 calories, 50 grams of total fat, 0 grams of cholesterol, 8 grams of total carbohydrates or 2% of the daily value needed, 3 grams of protein or 5% of the daily value needed, and 4mg of sodium or 0% of the daily value needed.
