Two children in India have died after being attacked by a leopard in two separate attacks this week. It is by the official warehouse of India. A 5 year old boy died on Tuesday in the northern state of Uttarakhand. The day before, in neighboring Uttar Pradesh, a 10-year-old girl also died after being attacked by a leopard. News channel NDTV reported that the boy, identified only as Piyush, was on his way home to the village of Nishni when a tiger was seen attacking him and dragging him into a nearby field. Forestry Division officer Lalit Mohan Negi said villagers had sounded the alarm and the tiger saw it fleeing into a nearby forest. Piyush's body is found shortly after. “The Department of Forestry is now installing cages in the area to trap leopards,” added Negi as quoted from Newsweek, Thursday (24/11/2022). News website ThePrint reported that the victim was picking vegetables on her family's farm in Nausar Gumtiha village when a tiger was seen pounced on her and dragged her into the jungle. According to The Print, villagers chased and surrounded the big cat, prompting it to drop the injured girl onto a field. Seema later dies of his injuries. Forestry Division officer Akashdeep Badhawan told the news outlet that warehouse officials were patrolling the area amid fears the leopard could return.
