(My Best friend - Rakhi)

How are you all? Hope everyone is well and all of you had a great day.

Today I am going to participate in Incredible India Creative writing Contest #9. The subject of the contest is write about your best friend. Actually "Bestfriend" is a relationship, which covers a large part of each of our lives.

When we hear the word "Bestfriend", Faces of many people appear before the eyes. Whom we met at some point in our life. Because in childhood, school life, college life, work life we ​​meet many people in every field. We develop friendship with many person. But the place of Bestfriend remains unchanged in our life.

Sometimes we may lose contact with them due to circumstances in life, but their place inside the mind does not change. But I am one of those lucky ones who has known his best friend since childhood.Her house is next to our house. So we lived together almost till my marriage. We used to go to school, go to private tution together.

Like everyone, I had many friends in school and college. But "Rakhi" is different because she understood me the way my other friends couldn't. She knew my every emotion. So I never had to explain to her if was angry or feeling lonely. And for this particular reason, she was different from everyone else, she is and will be my best friend for the rest of my life.

Her best quality is her patience. There are many situations in our life when we lose patience, take many wrong decisions due to anger, say wrong things to others. But Rakhi does not do these. Rather, if someone does that, she refers to them. Moreover, she is very calm, respects elders, helps others, comes forward in someone's problem. And even there is no such thing as a bad quality in her. But one quality I want to change, is the attitude of harming herself and benefiting others. I have seen her to suffer because of this mentality.

At the worst time of my life my friend treated me like a mother would treat her child. My mother died in 2011. By then my two sisters were married,my father can't stay at home because of his work. Only Me and my grandma used to stay at home. I got married in 2014. In the intervening two years, she stay with me every night. Because I used to sleep with my mother. She understood how difficult it was to sleep alone after my mother's death.

So without me saying anything she told me that from now on I will sleep with you. You won't believe, from that day until I got married, she didn't let me sleep one night alone. Even now if I go home, and my husband doesn't go with me, I sleep with her. From that day I also respect her. And feel blessed to have a friend in my life like her.

At that time my own relatives did not understand as much as my friend did. That's why everyone says that sometimes love relations is bigger than blood relations.

Our relationship has grown so deep over time that it cannot be broken under any circumstances. Even now when I go home, we chat and talk like before. But after her marriage, we may not spend time that much. But nowadays with the help of internet the distance is not feel very much.

We still keep in touch. We meet often. After 1-2 days we talk on phone, video call. She has done a lot for me as a friend. I don't know when I can do anything for her. Like me,she lost her mother 2 years ago. I tried to support her emotionally from my side but I couldn't do it like she does for me.

A few days ago we both went to visit our another friend's house. We had a great time then. Actually we all are busy nowadays. However, it is really nice to take some time for yourself and spend time with your loved ones.

However, at last I want to say one thing, in this busy life we ​​often forget to tell our loved ones that - I love you. I have never said to my mother -"I love you." Today my mother is no more. But yes, I have never told my friend face to face that I love her. But every year on her birthday I messaged her -" Thank you for being by my side, I love you very much."

I got a little emotional while writing about her today. All the memories of the old days came to my mind. Thank you so much @IncredibleIndia community for giving me the opportunity to write about such a beautiful topic. I pray that everyone has a friend in their life with whom everyone can get through all the good and bad situations in life.
