In todays fastpaced world it is crucial to combine hard work with smart work to maximize productivity.
But smart work is very important to gain fame and recognition among people. Smart workers prioritize their tasks, completing the most important tasks first and the rest later. This makes their job easier as they can work towards solutions on a priority basis. Smart Work lets you understand your time usage before you even start working. With a plan of what needs to be done, smart workers quickly reach the pinnacle of success. In a sense, working smartly will lead to success in any task assigned to us.

I believe that both hard work and smart work are necessary to bring effectiveness and efficiency in a job. According to me both are important depending on the situation. For example, if you are a student preparing for any kind of competitive exams, your hard work will help you crack the exam because there is no smart work in studying.

But sometimes our conditions do not require labor, for example if you have a washing machine, then there is no need to labor by washing your clothes by hand.

So both are important, the key is presence of mind.Smart work is about how you do things. Hard work is about how long you work.

For example, during IIT preparation, I would solve problems only until I knew how to solve them. If I can solve the rest of the problem, I'll stop there. This is because I wanted to learn as many techniques as possible while preparing. Solving the problem completely was for the exam, not for home preparation.
