The official currency of Bangladesh is known as Taka. Code: BDT, Short form: Tk. The word “Taka” has its own history and the relations to our country’s culture. That each note I am holding has been made from Bangladesh it feels like I’m holding a piece of Bangladesh. Each note tells a story of the society and significant aspects of the culture of our country. Like 1, 2, and 5 taka coin has the picture of our national flower Shapla flower at one side. Our national mosque is featured on the 10 taka note and the Sixty Dome Mosque on the 20 taka note. On many notes, there is also a picture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman our independence hero. Such notes make us proud because they belong to our country.
The smallest and largest amount of currency in our country.

In Bangladesh, the coin with the lowest value is 1 taka, for petty purchases and the banknote of the highest denomination is 1000 taka for large purchases. If 1 STEEM = 20 taka, then 1 taka will be approximately 0.05 STEEM and 1000 taka would be 50 STEEM.
Tell me how do you make transactions using the largest denomination of currency in your country?
With a 1000 taka note you can purchase many things as it is shown below.

We could get a gorgeous sari for only 1000 taka. We can also use this note to accomplish a big shopping, for instance, fish, meat or weekly groceries shopping. For home items such as a fan or an iron this big note also comes in handy. If STEEM is equal to 20 taka, 1000 taka will be equivalent to approximately 50 STEEM.
Do you love your country's currency? Give your reasons. How do you show your love for the currency?

Taka to us means much more than simply pieces of paper. It represents our nation and ourselves. Each note has pictures containing our national symbols, monuments and history. Holding a note feels like holding a small part of our country’s story. This basically means that we should handle our currency with a lot of respect, do not crumble or throw around.
Our currency is part of our pride and identity. Loving our country also means loving and respecting its currency.
