Introduction
Writing about a business is a form of advertisement and in some cases, it could be legal while in other cases it isn't. Whatever the case is, I have decided to write on a traditional retail business by a trader who lives beside my compound in Nyanya, Abuja, Nigeria.
I live on the outskirts of Abuja, where setting up a standard business isn't the order of the day. Normally, what you'll see are roadside attachments of people selling.
And to think that these people are comfortable with what they're doing. From that business, they train all their children from primary to tertiary level.
This mini enterprise which is a container of goods is owned by one Mr. Abdul. People only refer to him by his first name around my street. He's not a fan of technology but I can say that he's better than when he initially started.

Business Review Proper
Mr. Abdul is a small-time business owner who over the past 6 months has grown from selling a few businesses in the container to expanding including various little groceries and inclusion of the Point of Sale payment system.
He started by selling biscuits and sweets which were the remains of the initial owner of the container. The owner was relocating and transferred ownership to Mr. Abdul.
It was not a formal transfer that involves contract signing and lawyers but a mare fee that the current owner had to pay.
When he bought the property and the remaining goods, he was not making much. He had to save up from his main salary work which was being a gateman at the compound directly opposite his shop.
Mr. Abdul aside from being the owner of the shop is a gateman. His gateman job doesn't interfere with his business and vice versa.
Out of respect for his job and religion, he closes by 6 pm daily and does not open on Fridays because he's a Muslim.
Here are some of Mr. Abdul's goods on display
His goods range from assorted biscuits, sweets, beverages, noodles, drinks, seasoning cubes, and toiletries. He offers PoS services, which in this part of the country is rampant and lucrative.
- What are PoS services?
It's a mini banking system that gives out a certain amount to individuals for a little fee. This financial transaction is facilitated through a PoS machine that is affiliated with your bank.
The banner on the railings indicates that PoS services are offered there and this is in front of Mr. Abdul's shop. He was rendering such service to a customer when I took this picture and anything financially inclined should be treated with utmost secrecy.
Prices of his goods
He sells the same category of products and their price range.
Product/Services | Price range in naira | Price range in steem @ #200 |

Mr. Abdul is an honest trader and doesn't scam people. No matter how little your change is, he would pay it to the kobo unless you're kind enough to leave it for him.
He trades at:
Location: Phase IV Road III Nyanya Abuja

From the pictures shared, it can be seen that Mr. Abdul sells quite a lot of things. It wasn't like that a few months ago and I have watched him grow.
I patronize him a lot but when I want to buy other things like fresh tomatoes, potatoes, farm products, etc, I have to go to the Nyanya Market located not far away from home.
Conclusion
A small-scale business is very lucrative as long as you're consistent and sincere. That's the first rule for any successful business enterprise. Start small and reap big...my make-shift slogan.

Hello friend how nice that you have been able to see the growth of Abdul's business, if I can notice that it has many products, taking into account that it is difficult to get business in this way, I am very glad that Mr. Abdul has worked hard to get it, and well on your part thank you for showing us this good business. I wish you the best and that you continue to grow much more.
