Leumang Yusri

When I returned to my in-laws' house in the Teupin Raya area, Pidie, there were many things that I enjoyed. Apart from the very delicious beaten eggs, it turns out there is also leumang. Leumang is one of Aceh's delicious culinary delights.

Leumang is made from sticky rice mixed with coconut milk. This mixture of coconut milk and sticky rice is put into banbu which has been cut for each segment. In the bamboo, young banana leaves have been inserted which have been shaped in such a way that a mixture of sticky rice and coconut milk can be put into them.

Leumang is then burned using firewood. When burning the leumang, the leumang is usually placed in a designated place. In front of the leumang there is a pile of wood that is being burned. Fire that burns wood, the heat will burn the leumang.

It takes about 3 or 4 hours for this leumang to cook. After cooking, the leumang is taken to the sales place along with the bamboo. Usually sellers will make jam or sugar as a mixture for eating leumang. I usually buy leumang with srikaya.

I enjoyed leumang at the stall where Yusri sells leumang. Yes, Yusri usually sells leumang in front of the stall every afternoon. I buy it almost every day. I enjoyed the delicious leumang together with beaten eggs mixed with coffee. The taste is of course very good.
