Steemit Engagement Challenge S9W6 : Hard Work or Smart Work ?

in hive-120861 •  2 years ago

The bright morning and the refreshing air flowed through my face just when I open the back door of my office. I sat on the back porch of the office, sipping a cup of tea while looking at the plants waving in the morning breeze. My mind drifted to a question that I also thought about yesterday afternoon after seeing the announcement of this contest.

A dilemmatic question that will surely raise a lot of debate, about which one is better, working harder or smarter. A flashback crossed my mind about life's long journey that I have passed through. Once upon a time, I admired hard work more than anything else. I firmly believe that hard work is the only answer to achieving success. I spent hours in the office, completing seemingly endless deadlines. I don't know how many books and journals related to work I read until I lose track of time. Here, I found the meaning of hard work. For me, hard work is an effort to achieve something by involving all the resources you have. Working hard is the same as wearing horse glasses. In the unwritten rules of hard work, it is forbidden to even glance to the side, let alone back.

The duality of hard work vs smart work

Gradually I realized that hard work alone is not enough. Even though we have tried everything to get the best results, there are still situations where reality is inversely proportional to the expectations that we have built so far. When it happen, it was like running at the same place over and over again. Disappointed, angry, all in one. Under these conditions, I asked myself, is there another way to achieve success?

Life's journey led me to another answer. Experiences one after another led me to a far more up-to-date principle, "smart work is the key, while hard work is the lock." Sometimes resources are important, but how to manage resources as effectively and efficiently as possible is no less important.

My perspective on hard work and smart work completely changed. The two are not at opposite poles but are on two sides of the same coin. Hard work creates a strong foundation, while smart work guides the right direction and strategy.
In the professional sphere, I slowly changed my approach to work. I started to care about time management, prioritizing work from the most important, and utilizing other resources that can make things more efficient, without compromising the quality.

The result was unimaginable. I have become many times more productive and satisfied with my achievements. The "hard work" and "smart work" approaches don't necessarily make me neglect my personal life, but while remaining responsible in the tasks I assume. It is important to know the boundaries while allocating time for family, hobbies, and interests.

Conclusion

So, when someone is asking which one is better, working hard or smart? I can firmly answer emphatically; "Smart hard work". As you step into this competitive world, remember that success is not only determined by how hard you work but also by how smart you do it. Work hard and be smart in navigating your journey toward the objectives and goals you want to achieve.

trabajar duro e inteligente!🤗

However, as time went on and I gained more experience, I began to question whether working harder was really the only path to success. I started observing people who seemed to achieve their goals with minimal effort, but still achieved great success. They seem to be working smarter, not harder.

Everyone has their own way to achieve their goals. I personally choose to work hard and work smart to achieve my goals:D

Thanks 👍👍

It can be frustrating and disheartening when our expectations and efforts don't align with the reality of the situation.

Take it easy, there's still plenty of time left.
