What kind of part-time work do you do?

Let's look at part-time work as work that is not permanent. It's a work that earns income to one based on the hour of work.

The work can terminate without notice, and the worker can equally leave the work if he so wishes without any necessary formalities.

What is your work schedule like?

In my work schedule, I go to the office when I want to inspect some work in most cases, or else I do most of the work online. I am a practicing Estate Surveyor and Valuer. I manage people's landed properties.

I manage the properties entrusted to me, online, i.e. through Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp, and also through print media such as magazines, flyers, newspapers, and radio and television, besides physical contact.

I go to the office to do some direct certain things and see how they are being carried out.

I go out to get in physical contact with clients, those properties to be sold and those to be managed.

What are the benefits of part-time work?

The benefits of part-time work are: that one does it in leisure time and specific hours as one desires to do. It attracts extra income since it's done at leisure and hourly.

Part-time work helps one to exploit more opportunities in different careers, hence new trades will be learned.

It can be a benefit to retirees, hence it's not full-time employment that may confine one to his workplace.

It also helps to improve one's skills, since one must not be specifically confined to a specific task.

It makes one to have some social interaction since meeting different people of different ethnic nationalities and different cultures and philosophies.

It can also provide mental health, if one exercises his body and brain in carrying out a task, the body will be sound. Because idleness can lead to unnecessary thinking which may result in blood rise.

It also helps to build confidence in the task carried out because it may not be necessary to get the task of one area specialization. After all, the one you specialize in may not be available at the time.

What are your main job responsibilities?

My main job responsibilities are valuation, consultancy, and agency.

I carry out a valuation of sales, rental, and compensation for properties. When a client wants to dispose of or rent his landed properties, he can demand to know the sales or rental values of the properties.

And where there is compulsory acquisition of properties for overriding the public interest, the government as well as the owner may want to Know the worth of the property in momentary term.

I also carry out consultative work as a professional where clients want to invest in landed properties.

I also carry out agency work where I connect property owners to tenants and tenants to property owners and receive my commission and leave.

How do you balance your work and studies/personal life?

I usually work with my personal life through devotion to my work as the time due, i.e. try to make proper use of the time for everything that I do.

I draw schedules of all my activities to enable me to meet up with all the challenges within me. Unless otherwise, I don't allow overheating of one task at the expense of another.

In a nutshell, part-time work is an hourly one, and not permanent, and it's an extra income.

I try my best to never allow one task to override the other unless otherwise, to enable me to balance my work with my personal life.
