Greetings to everyone @steemEntrepreneurs. I am really excited about this contest, because it will give me the opportunity to write about my present job. I have not had the opportunity to write in details about my job, the struggles, balancing my work life and how to be the best.
I am a teacher presently, I have taught in three schools and I must say it has been a fun ride.

My first teaching job, came in December 2014, I started out with teaching nursery 1. The salary wasn't too much but as a young guy as at that time, that was what my certificates could afford. I did the job diligently and was soon praised for my perseverance with the children. Little kids are fragile, so we teachers and parents have to be careful how we treat them. At this stage, they learn quite fast, so anything thrown at them is absorbed into their minds immediately.
After a year, I was admitted into the University, so I couldn't continue, I had to resign. My employers were so happy with what I have done for the little kids and they prayed for me to excel in my studies.
After graduation from the university, I applied for another teaching job and with my experience and degree, I had one of the best teaching experience. I didn't stay long before being transferred to another school, where I am presently teaching.
I take only mathematics and mental sums. And I have been very happy with the progress of my pupils so far.

Teaching, though fun, can be strenuous, most times I have to prepare lesson notes, learn, do research and look for easy ways I can present the topic to the pupils. Most times I get so tired after teaching for up to 5 weeks. But the basic thing I do is to look after my health, I sleep a lot to regain my strength. Take lot of fruits too. My mind and body is kept at an optimal level to make sure that I am in a good state. My work life doesn't affect other aspect of my life. I have just 8 working hours everyday and I get to rest in the afternoon and then participate in other aspects of my life. I also have the weekends for outings, picnics, religious meetings, parties and football. This helps me to be refreshed for a new week.

To affect the kids life positively, these are some of the tips I have applied over time to keep me on top of my game:
- Preparation and goals:
To be a good teacher, one has to set goals and also be prepared for each day. Whenever I have a new mathematics lesson, I write down notes and then objectives I want to achieve, how to achieve this objectives. And then I get to prepare myself with the notes. I make more research about a particular topic for more knowledge. Preparation helps me to know more than one aspect of solving a particular sum. Set goals and be prepared.
- Patience:
Not all the pupils are highly intelligent, so as a teacher, one as to know that while some might understand a particular topic faster, others may not. A teacher has to be patient with the pupils, give them more time to understand. Teaching requires a lot of patience and time, you will need it.
- Be a Role Model:
The kids learn from what we do as well as what we say. I was taught that a teacher is a mirror to the pupils. What you want you pupils to become,you have to show it in your character and behaviour. If you want them to be loving and caring, you have to also show it. I love showing kindness to the pupils a lot.
My teaching career as been great and I love transferring knowledge to my pupils.
This has been my career so far.
