A wonderful day to my dear steemians from all parts of the world .I find it interesting as I would be sharing business ideas with my friends.l want to talk about barbing business or owing a barber s shop. What is involved and how to go about it.

A barbers shop

It is where men can get their hair cut.women are not left out so it could be unisex. It could be a small shop but it must be ventilated it should not be to tight , so when artificial air is applied your Clients do not suffer heat. This business is very lucrative but when we talk about starting up this business what is involved? (1) capital (2)a shop (3)area or location. What about knowledge of the skill this will be communicated as the discussion unfolds.but let's quickly talk about what is involved.

capital

It's is the money required to start up a Business. In this case from my own calculation ,looking at how things are the present situation of the economy here in Nigeria it could cost 5000 steems to set up a standard barbers shop .Am not saying anything lower than that like 4000 steems or even 3,000 steems could not be considered, but the facilities is what we are talking about.

Shop

It could be as large as you would want it when its large it's better then if it should be small, it should not pass the size of a sitting room that if it must be small.
I may not know what shop or apartment rents are like in your area but here in Nigeria the least shop is 150,000 - 200.000 (uyo precisely) if Icould estimate .The shop you need must be ventilated I mentioned this earlier so clients do not suffer of scourging heat .

Area or location
|

The location matters a lot.As humans we have the ability to make decisions .Most barbers prefer a school area.It could be a secondary school now it's true that students will always have their haircut so as to look good and decent.
I have a friend who owns a barber shop very close to the university of uyo, UYO Akwaibom state. Now the complaint is that business is always booming when school is on.

When schools are closed both secondary and tertiary institution it becomes an issue for the Barber. Not because they are no client but because the number they are handling was not what was expected as a result it becomes hard to deal with expenses.
Others choose to dwell in market places ,what happens when the market dismisses? Am not saying you won't make sales but it's not gonna give you what you want .

Therefore I would suggest you get a residental area , or juntion
