A report has it that a final year student of the University of Benin(UNIBEN) in the department of Political Science has been shot dead hours after his final year exam. What a tragic news!!
The student, by name Augustine Izu has been trailed down his off-campus hostel located at 5, Image Street, off Federal Road, Ugbowo, Benin-city by his assailants on Tuesday, where he was shot dead in his room!
According to a close source on the incident, his murders(the assailants), were four in number and each of them wore a face-mask to keep their identity in stealth when they carried out the dastardly act in the presence of the deceased friend who was also hit by bullet on his arm!
On the same Tuesday, another student of the institution identified as Joshua Oginigbo has been reported to have been shot by gunmen!
Joshua Oginigbo, a student of computer engineering was shot in the head around the June 12 secretariat Critically injured, and Is receiving treatment at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital!
Spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, Bello Kotongs, confirmed both shootings, assuring the people that the assailants are being trailed and would be brought to book.
