Welcome to the Week 8 Contest of Campusconnect Community. This contest is all about Recommending my current school to a friend. After this content, a friend, national or international may find my school interesting to choose. This content is also solely meant to help our friends and family to opt-in for their preferred school of aspiration!

outlined below is my recommendation points of reference, These points includes:

1. The name of my school and where it is located
2. Necessary documents required to gain admission into my school.
3. The Joint matriculation board cut-off mark required for year one aspirants.
4. My current semester.
5. My school hostel for students.
6. School fees amount of my school and other dues for year one students.

So having outlined my points of reference, let's discuss them according to their numerical order. So dear let's dive in...

1. The name of my school and where it is located.
The name of my school is Federal University Otuoke (FUO). My school is located in the Southern part of Nigeria, Bayelsa State in Niger-Delta region. My school is one of the nine new Federal Universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in February 2011, during Goodluck Jonathan regime. My School is just 21 kilometres South of the State capital of Yenagoa and occupies an expanse of 200 hectares in the Ijaw town of Otuoke, Ogbia L.G.A.

2. Necessary documents required to gain admission into my school.
Before you even think of Applying for the school, you have to make sure that you have your WAEC/NECO/GCE result and you must have credit in English Language. Then you must also prepare the following documents:

• Local Government Identification Certificate.
• Date of birth Certificate.
• WAEC/NECO/GCE result (Very Important).
• WAEC/NECO/GCE Scratch card for result verification.
• Original Jamb Slip.
• Jamb result.
• Post UTME Slip.

3. The Joint matriculation board cut-off mark required for year one aspirants.
There are currently six(6) Faculties in the school: Faculty Of Science, Faculty Of Engineering, Faculty Of Management Science, Faculty Of Humanities, Faculty Of Social Sciences, and Faculty Of Education, and they have twenty-nine Departments.
The Jamb cut-off mark is 160 and above for all courses but there are also different cut-off marks for various departments!

4.My current semester.
We're currently in our First semester for the 2020/2021 academic session. Freshers has started lectures already but the returning students is to resume on 9th August, 2021.

5. My school hostel for students.
My school has hostels for both male and female. The Male hostel is located at the East Campus (Skills acquisition Center) While the the Female hostel is located at the West Campus (Main Campus). The school has two female hostels, one is located outside the school main gate (Mama Jonathan) while the other one is located inside the main gate!

6. School fees amount of my school and other dues for year one students.
The table in the image below shows the school fees breakdown for year one Students and returning students for all faculties:

MUST READ INFORMATION

1. All new students (Freshers) must stay in the hostel, unless contra-indicated by a Medical Doctor and or subject to availability of space. This one is for the freshers. Staying in the hostel is compulsory.

2. The full applicable fees above must be paid by Students by the end of Registration Period of academic year, else all registration privileges will be withdrawn for the academic year. This is compulsory too!

3. Accommodation (N10,000 per student) is not included in the school fee schedule above. Accomodation payment is not included in the fees above. So every fresher should take note of this.

4. All fees paid are not refundable. Take note of this too.

5. The outstanding fees (all) must be paid by returning Students BEFORE Registration for the new Academic Session. This payment is prior to a new Academic session!

6. In this Academic Session, 2020/2021, Fresh students registration, the Acceptance fee, Processing fee, Medicals/Laboratory & X-Ray fee are paid together "N38,000" . This is a new policy now by the school management.
