Campus Connect week6 Contest || My fist day on Campus || by basky14

Greetings friends hope you all are doing just fine? My Regards go to @Whitestallion for organizing this contest.

My first day on campus was fun and same time stressful. I gained Admission to study Biotechnology in the University of Technology Owerri to resume school on the 5th of January 2014. But to be frank with you I did not resume on that day because we were still on festive period so I have to resume the upper week.

I resumed the upper week been Monday with joy and happiness in my heart because if I should not get that admission as at that time, I will not be able to go to University again that's was what my parents told me. Why they said that was that I wrote Jamb for 3 good times so they told me if I should not pass Jamb again that I will not go to University again but thank God I got the Admission.

When the bus landed at the school park I was like finally am now in the four walls of a University I was very happy and many things was going on in my head like, am leaving the house for a while that freedom was relieving, free from Parents and their troubles, free to do anything I want and so on. So from the bus park I started asking for directions because that's was my first time in school. So the directed me to the SUG office (Student Union Government).

I went to the SUG office on getting their I saw my fellow newbies I said to myself this the opportunity to see my fellow course mate so I started asking some students what department do they belong to. Luckily I found some of my course mate we discussed and exchange contacts. But I found one fine girl😉 my course mate too we became very good friends, her name is Jovita her steemit username is @jovybeauty.

At the SUG office I paid 2000naira for SUG fee which they gave us a flyer that has all the directions we need to complete our clearance as a fresher in the University. After the SUG office I and Jovita went to Our Department to go see our course adviser, on reaching to her office she was cleaning her office so we helped to clean and arrange her office. After cleaning we submitted some files to her and she gave us some orientation about the school. Then she told us to go to SEET HEAD (School of Engineering) to go submit some files there for our Green File.

So me and Jovita was going to the SEET HEAD we decided to enter a motorcycle. So we stopped a motorcycle and told him that we are going to SEET HEAD but we don't know that the building we are looking for was right before us instead the cyclist will tell us that look at the building we were asking for what he did was to collect 400naira from us and took us round the building and dropped us at same roundabout he picked us. I was like sir is this not the same place you carried us the cyclist did not even answer us and just zoomed of. I was like wow welcome to the University.

After the incident we went to the office submitted the files although it took us some time due to some students were also there. After there we headed for the school medicals to do medical clearance but the clearance there was much to the extend of students bringing down some part of the fence in order to be cleared first. I couldn't do my clearance that day but the next day due to the staff said that they have dismissed for that day. So we left there to the carteen to go buy what to eat. After eating I escorted Jovita to her jostle and I went back home due to I haven't done my hostel clearance.
