Hello steemians!
Happy Sunday to you all,

Cybercrime on the increase, I thought of bringing to us the need to be aware of it.
The invention of the computer was not founded on a platter of gold. The road to it was, infact long, rough and arduous. With the feat that the Babbage has stamped their footprints permanently on the sands of time. Babbage has conclusively ruminated that thence-forth man's life would be more shave and smoother, with formal instruction facilitated, researcher made easier and more accurate, and communication fastest.

But then, everything or situation that is good has it's reverse side sequel to the afore mentioned, the jinx that remains to be is why the adverse and the reject are most pronounced and noticable.

If you may ask, "What actually attracts our talented youths to the perverse world of Cyber Crime? well, it is obvious that the driving forces behind the cyber criminals boarder on greed, inability to manage unemployment, desire to get rich quick gullibility, grab tendency, materialism and desperation.
Many of the offenders do not even understand the gravity of their crimes and offences. Nevertheless, the fact is established that most of their victims get broke and or bankrupt and eventually die as a result of the loses they suffered. Certain others of their victims lose their lives as a result of heart attacks and high blood pressure consequent upon the shock they recieved.

often times, to entice victims there some areas of coverage which they strategize, they are

  • Inviting people to reactivate their ATM cards which their purported BVN system upgrade had disrupted. They request such person's to call private phone number( usually displayed). On calling such a number, they request for the person's ATM card number. If one dares supply this, one has only signed one's death warrant, because alerts upon alerts of huge withdrawals will begin to register on such a person's phone.

  • Inform and congratulate you on your winning a multi-million Naira promo, Bonanza or raffle which you never contested. Next, they request you to supply your Bank account number to enable them pay in the huge sum you have won. This could be suicidal if you are gullible because your account goes red the moment you send them your bank account number.

  • Proposing courtship and marriage to the superfluous rich members (especially females) of the society. Shortly afterwards, the process turns into a blackmail, and even kidnap.

  • Advertisment of non- existent University, polytechnic or colleges of education admissions at the equivalent cost of the real and authentic forms

  • Advertisment of the sales of houses, land vehicle etc. which only exist in the utopian world of fantasy.

  • Display of pornographic pictures for sales and the posting of unconfirmed and uninvestigated pieces of information to blackmail their victims into co-operating with them.

  • Hacking into other person's private accounts, documents, information research findings to mention just a few.

CONCLUSION

The fact cannot be gain said that crime is an evil which contravenes the law. Perpetrators stand to face justice and an agonizing and disgraceful end Is certain. The lucky ones quit before they get to the end of tether. Naturally , when one opts for a life of crime, one compromise one's joyous, long life span. Bluntly put, whoever takes to a life of crime has volunteered for a short life span ( even as mortals are not the author of their lives).
