PERSONALITY MANAGEMENT

Personality management are various routine checks individuals put up to regulate their actions and activities to be able to suit into the society perfectly. They are various activities to weather the storm of anger, temperament and provocation from individuals during the activity of socialization.

I would be focusing on the sub-topic temperament as a case study.

TEMPERAMENT

Temperament is your inborn traits that takes effect on your behavior, even as your life advances. It rubs off on every aspect of your life, ranging from your eating habits, to relationships, to sleeping habits, career choices and many more.

It's good to know that it is hereditary, based on the fact that the make-up of every child is combined from 6 people (Parents and grandparents), which is why some children tend to have most things in common with their grandparents e.g facial resemblance, hair-type, height, accent e.t.c.

Your temperament basically will either make you all out/outgoing (extrovert) or shy/self-conscious (introvert).

Because temperament is derived from 6 people, it makes it possible for siblings to pick different aspects and blends from each of the 6, not withstanding, there's likely to be similarities amongst family members and vice versa, which is why a music super star could have siblings who are tone déad, you possibly know a good number of siblings like this

Your temperament is your uniqueness, it comes with it strength and weaknesses, remember (it's inborn).
Knowing your strength and utilising it is to your best while knowing your weaknesses and taming it is to your advantage alike.

There are four basic types of temperaments,

BASIC TEMPERAMENT AND FEATURES

  1. Sanguine: Outgoing yet easygoing, outwardly focused, a talkative, contented, carefree, very playful, lively and sociable, hence you lighten up everywhere you step in, no dull moment around you. (Extrovert)

  2. Choleric: Optimistic, active, can be aggressive, active, focused on others, restless, egocentric and bossy, hence you love to control others to sooth your ego. (Extrovert)

  3. Melancholy: Quiet, reserved, anxious, suspicious, worried about the unknown, rigid, thoughtful, highly principled, very serious, focused on inner circle of family and friends, moody, hence you can prefer to be alone as long as you want without talking to anyone, just you and your deep thoughts. (Most melancholies are introverted introverts)

  4. Phlegmatic: Peaceful, thoughtful, very careful, calm, principled, steadfast, persistent, reliable, inward focused, loyal and easy to control, hence you are loyal to bossy people, because you don't want to stress neither yourself or others with trouble. (Introvert)

Note: Whatever your temperament type, or blend, you're either extroverted or introverted, this is how you'll know:

Briefly, as an extrovert, you are:

  • Outgoing
  • You talk more
  • You enjoy people's company
  • You're very jovial and friendly
  • You have multiple friends
  • You are a party rocker
  • You always want to be noticed
  • Long phone calls are perfect fun for you.

On the other hand,
Introvert, you are:

  • A loner
  • Very quiet and reserved
  • You are always serious
  • You live in your head
  • You love talking to yourself
  • You have a small circle of friends (if at all)
  • You are mindful of details
  • You rather write than speak your thoughts.

Your personality can change, but your temperament will not.

Your character can change too, but your temperament will not.

However, your temperament can improve your character and personality if you work on your Strengths and weaknesses.

Salient Point

Study your temperament in order to self analyze properly, and then to understand the strength and weaknesses of others in order to avoid conflicts. Know yourself then you could know others. Work on yourself and learn how to deal with others.
