MY MOST FREQUENTLY USED SOCIAL MEDIA APPLICATION.

Good day my fellow Steemians, it's been a wonderful experience on this platform so far. Feeling really optimistic about this contest and I'm giving it a try although it's my first contest on this platform and basically my first with this community. Special appreciation to @pricelesspresh for such a wonderful contest I must say.
So today I will be talking about "my most frequently used social media application." So, sit back and I hope you enjoy it.

INTRODUCTION
There are various applications which enable people perform different tasks or actions depending on what they want to do. Amongst those various applications is the social media application which in my opinion are those applications that allow people conceive or share their views, opinions, contents and also involve themselves in social networking of various forms.
Among this social network and for the purpose of this task, I would be speaking and laying emphasis on my most frequently used social media application which are:

WhatsApp and,
Snapchat
I would speak briefly on these two applications before further proceeding to talk about thier benefits and why I frequently use them.
WHATSAPP.

WhatsApp which is unarguably one of the most popular social network applications, having over 500 million users was initially released in the year 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum. Although in recent times (2014 - present) is owned by Facebook is an app known basically for messaging. Through WhatsApp users communicate through text, voice or video call, share images, documents to other users connected to the internet through a mobile device or desktop. I have been using WhatsApp for a couple of years which has made me familiarize myself to it and it's features. These features are what contributed to what made it become one of my frequently used social media application. They are:
● Chatting and Sharing of media: This is basically the reason why over 50% of WhatsApp users use WhatsApp. With WhatsApp all sort of messages can be shared between user through texts, voice notes, video call and voice all. Making it faster and more efficient to use than other applications with similar functions. With WhatsApp also you can share videos, music, files and documents depending on it's size to another user, provided the both of you are connected to the internet. This feature is the most attractive of them all.
●Lesser cost of usage: WhatsApp cuts across all levels of human class in the society making it accessible for anyone with a phone connected to the internet. Sending of messages go at little rate to accommodate all and in my country Nigeria it is cheaper to use.
● No adds or pop-ups: We all know how annoying advertisements popularly know aa "adds" can be and how they can just pop up at any given time thereby hampering the progress of whatever you are doing and consuming time too. But with WhatsApp you are assured that there would be no "adds" or pop-ups whatsoever that could slow down your work, making it unique.
● Easy to understand and Fun to use: WhatsApp as a social network is very easy to understand for someone using it for the first time whether an adult or a child above the age of reasoning. For instance you do not need to send someone friend request and vice versa, members of your comtact list who are WhatsApp users are automatically added to your WhatsApp. WhatsApp can also be fun to use considering the features of posting on your mobile status whatsoever you want your contacts to see be it pictures or videos. Speaking of features, it also has privacy features in which you can restrict selected persons messages from getting to your phone, restrict persons from seeing your profile picture or status upload etc.
●Business feature: January 2018 WhatsApp introduced a feature, a standalone business app which is another form of WhatsApp.

Through this feature of WhatsApp I carryout my business and post my catalogue of products for marketing. This feature has been helping me market my goods for over a year now.

Moving on to my second most frequently used social media application, SNAPCHAT.

Authored by Evan spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie brown who were former students at Stanford University. Snapchat is an American app that came into existence on 16th September, 2011. Although in comparison with WhatsApp, snapchat may not be that famous. Snapchat could also be said to be a messaging app coupled with multimedia, photo sharing, instant messaging and video chat as it's basic features. It has high level of security and privacy which makes me like the app. Communication on snapchat is done via text or a snap. A snap cloud either be a video or picture sent capable of being viewed only once or twice. Snapchat is popular among the younger generation and has over 200million people active daily and over 5 billion snaps are created and viewed daily. The fact that the authors of this app were former students always gives me the motivation to create something. Some of the reasons I enjoy using snapchat are:
●To chat with people: Being someone who likes to chat, I like the chatting feature of snapchat which enables me to chat with new people across the world who use snapchat.
● Privacy and security: Snapchat is undoubtedly one of the safest places to communicate with others as it is very secure and informs you on things as little as a screenshot

Which not many social platforms would do and also has a feature which enables you save private pictures or videos in a place away from your gallery and normal snap location called "my eyes only".

●Games and new Lenses: Being a young person and going with the adage which says "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy", snapchat has a couple of games you can play on the application either alone or with a friend no matter the location games such as word blitz. Also, another fun feature is the lenses which enables the user take pictures or make video with a wide variety of cool lenses

●View events around the world: with a feature called "Discover" or "spotlight", snapchat enables it's users to get familiar with the events and happenings around the world without going too far

●Share and save memories: with snapchat memories of pictures taken years ago can be retrieved and shared if saved. I still see some of my pictures and videos which I took on this day last year and previous years, brought to me as my memories on snapchat.

IN CONCLUSION:
There are various social network applications with various unique functions. I hope these two which are my frequently used helps someone find that event, reach out to that targeted audience, save that memory you don't want to forget, further that business or make you a happier person in that little way.
