Federal University of Technology Minna

I graduated from Futminna in the year 2019, this is a school that is ranked among the best universities in Nigeria and a top federal University.

As the name implies it is a technology oriented school and the courses offered are for a five year duration for students entering through Jamb process, Futminna has two campuses one in Gidan kwano and the other in Bosso(both in niger state).

To gain admission into Futminna there are basic documents which a student must possess

1. Birth certificate
2. A certificate showing the state you're from
3. Your Senior school leaving results (WAEC OR NECO)
4. Your jamb result with a good score for the course you want to read.
   Among other documents

Unlike other Universities which uses Faculty of, the different buildings are known as schools. There are 10 schools in total which are

1. School of science and technology education
2. School of life science
3. School of electrical engineering and technology
4. School of physical science
5. School of Infrastructure, process engineering and technology (my department mechanical engineering belongs here)
6. School of postgraduate studies
7. School of agricultural and agricultural technology
8. School of environmental technology
9. School of information and communication technology
10. School of entrepreneurship and management technology

I gained admission 2014 and the cutoff mark the was at 200 for Mechanical Engineering students and 180 generally for other courses, but in 2021 now mechanical engineering students must have up to 230 in Jamb to be considered.

The school has top facilities to enable students learn and also socialize well. Volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, football field. Top library, workshops and laboratories to improve practical knowledge of what the lecturers lecture in class.
School fee for the just concluded 2021 session was at 28000(twenty eight thousand naira), although there is a proposed increase in the fee it has not been officially announced.

Few years ago a multi-million naira hostel was built alongside the already existing ones to improve the accommodation situation of the students.

A high percentage of the admission and registration process for futminna is done online on the university portal.
